Crew’s thumb brushed under my lip, tilting my face just enough for me to have to look him in his eyes.

“If you really think that, then do you want me to leave and give you some space? I’m starting to not feel wanted here, and it’s breaking my cold ass heart.”

He let my chin go, and I rubbed the back of my neck because him leaving wasn’t what I really wanted.

“I’m sorry, Crew. It’s just. I’m just frustrated with everything in my life right now. I guess I just never thought I’d meet someone at the wrong time like this. I’ve been in a situation before where I was always put on the back burner, and that shit hurt. I let it go on too long, and I regretted it, so I keep telling myself I’m not going to do the same thing with you.”

“I’m not putting you on the back burner, and I came here tonight because I don’t want you feeling like that. You were the first stop I made with my free time, even though I could be doing a million other things right now. And look at me when I’m talking to you, Abria.”

I lifted my head and I was so nervous that I started fiddling with his chain. Crew was so fucking intimidating at times that it weirdly turned me on. Like being in trouble by him sounded like a good thing.

“Crew, what was that text about when you said that you needed to talk to me a couple of weeks ago?”

“That shit doesn’t really matter anymore. I’m sweeping that shit under the rug for now.”

“Okay, if you say so.”

Crew placed a soft, sensual kiss on my lips.

“So do you want to go out tonight?”

I closed my eyes for half a second to make sure I heard him right.

“Go out? Go out where?”

“Somewhere, I don’t know. I’m stressed and could use a drink with a beautiful ass view across from me. You look like you could use one, too.”

“You saying I look stressed like I look bad or something?”

“I don’t think you could look bad even if you were on crack. I’m just saying, you mad at me, crossing your arms and shit, so I want you to loosen up. You don’t think that’s a good idea?”

I smirked at him.

“Yeah, honestly, it could be.” I turned my body towards him, perking up just a bit.

“Well, go get dressed and don’t keep me waiting long, gorgeous.” He smacked me on my ass.

“Do you know of any places on this side of town we can go to?”

“Yeah, I know a couple. Let me do a little research on which one is the best to go to tonight,” I stood up, stretched, and then walked into the bedroom.

It didn’t take me long to figure out what I was putting on, and I quickly found a red dress and paired it with black strapless sandal heels that were six inches off the ground. I’d showered just before Crew got here, so that part was out of the way. I just freshened up with another spray of deodorant under my arms and lotion on my ashy ass feet and legs that I hadn’t paid attention to earlier.

My hair was a mess, so I brushed it up into a ponytail and left two pieces down in the front for bangs. That was my go-to style when my hair wasn’t freshly pressed, but I still wanted to look classy. After adding a red lip combo, I was done getting myself together in about thirty minutes. Once I stepped back outinto the living room, Crew placed his phone down in his lap and sat up in his seat.

“Damn you look sexy as hell.”

He stood up.

“I thought I liked you in black, but this red dress is going crazy too.” Crew grabbed his crotch as he sucked on his bottom lip.

“You know, the last time we went out, things got a little crazy, so are we good tonight? Should I go change into some sneakers?”

He laughed.

“Nah. We're good.”

“Okay, let’s go then.”
