She gives me a wicked smile.
“That’s my second favorite thing to do in the morning from now on.”
She blushes and turns to find her clothes.
I leave the room, hoping my hard-on will abate for a moment, and make my way to the kitchen. We both needed coffee after the night we had. I have a slight hangover, but it’s not too bad, considering the number of shots we drank last night. I grab a few Motrin from the kitchen drawer and down it with a glass of water. I lay a couple out for Liv in case she wants some too. I can only imagine she will have a headache today after the tequila shots with Emma and the guys last night not to mention our nearly sleepless night.
My thoughts are interrupted as I see Liv walking toward me wearing one of my shirts and nothing else, and damn if she doesn’t look hotter than her killer dress from last night. A possessiveness comes over me as I see her yawn and lift her arms to fix her hair. The shirt rides high on her thigh but stops just before it bares herself to me completely. I pull her into an embrace and kiss her neck.
“How do you feel this morning, baby? Do you need some Motrin? I left you some on the counter. Here take this.” I step away to grab her some water and move the Motrin in her direction.
She smiles. “Thanks. Yes, I need to drink some more water, too. I have a dull headache that would suck if it turned into a migraine. I need to refill my medication since I have more migraine attacks in the fall for some reason. I slept well even though we didn’t sleep much.” She pushes her face into my chest as if she’s shy, then looks up at me. “The wake-up was also award-winning.”
I almost spit out my coffee as I see her smirking.
“Got any more of that coffee?”
She turns away from me to look into a cabinet, lifting onto her toes and pushing her butt back as she reaches for a mug. I shift my body behind her and hold on to her hips as I grind my cock against her ass, my hard-on coming back fast.
“Keep that up, and you might not walk for the rest of the week,” I growl into her ear as I tug her lobe between my teeth.
She laughs and leans her face around to kiss me quickly as she steps aside to grab her coffee.
“It’s wise not to get in the way of my morning cup of joe.” She takes a sip and relaxes.
“Rain check?” she teases.
I can’t hide the smile as I enjoy the playful banter between us. It seems so natural and effortless.
“What are your plans for today?” I ask as I resume drinking my coffee.
We are both standing in the kitchen as if this is a normal thing for us.
“I’m going to visit Brodie today. I usually spend some time with him on Sundays.”
It’s as if she splashed cold water on my face. I judge her facial expression, which has gone somber. I am about to ask about that situation when her phone rings. She goes to look at who’s calling and sends it to voice mail. She places her coffee cup down and walks over to me. She gives me a hug and a quick kiss on the cheek.
“I need to go. I have a ton of things to do today.”
“I’ll take you,” I quickly add, not wanting to be away from her just yet.
She looks at me and smiles. “Okay, I’ll get changed.”
She leaves to go back to my bedroom. I grab my coffee and pull on a shirt, waiting for her as I stare out the window that overlooks the city.
She makes her way back into the kitchen, dressed in last night's clothes and her hair piled on top of her head.
“Ready?” I ask.
Although as the word leaves my mouth, I have an unsettling feeling and fear that I may not see her again after this. I can’t let that happen. I need to make sure I see her again.
We walk out in silence, both of us unsure of what to say. I open the door for her, and she gets into my car. I slip into my seat and reluctantly start the engine.
“Where to?'”
She gives me her address, and I pull away slowly. The continued silence that fills the car is deafening. I hit my playlist and “Texas Sun”comes on by Leon Bridges. I think back to that day on the beach. How the sun shone, and Liv was hot as sin in that bikini. I put the windows down since it feels good and it’s breezy today. The wind is blowing her hair, and I don't think I can ever tire of looking at her. The constant desire threatens to rip me apart if I can’t be near her. Unfortunately, the ride is short. Five minutes later, driving to her place became tense. She continues to look out the window as we drive, and I don’t know what to say.
When can I see you again? Call me later. What is going on with Brodie?None of them feel right. And a moment later, we’re pulling up to her place.
