My eyes catch on the words I’ve written on his forehead, and I turn away, trying to hide my grin. “Because you’re the one who chose to get high. I wasn’t going to drag your ass into the room.”
“You’re just pissed off you were made to look like an idiot in front of our pretty little Omega.” He grins. “Fuck. I hope she’s there. Maybe I can salvage this.”
“You’re joking, right? If anything, you’d make everything worse. Do everyone a favor and keep your mouth shut.”
“Damn, Daddy,” he whistles. “Did someone not get enough sleep? Because you sure are bitchy today. Should have taken me up on my offer to take away some of that pressure.” He grins. “The offer still stands. What do you say? A little road head is always fun.”
My cock twitches with interest. Sex is the last thing I should be worrying about.
He is right though, I didn’t get any sleep last night. All I could do is think about Lexi.
Not knowing if she was okay drove me crazy. We obviously upset her, scared her too. I hate myself for approaching her the way I did. I’m going to make it up to her, though.
I didn’t spend years looking for her only to lose her because of my own stupidity.
“You know you want to,” he taunts.
“Sloane,” I growl. “Enough.”
“You need to relax. Everything is going to be fine. That is, if you stop being Mr. Stalker. Something tells me our feisty little Omega doesn’t like that.”
“Geee. You think? I don’t think the hot liquid in my face was enough of a hint. Maybe it should have been when she kneed you in the dick. How is it, by the way?”
“It hurts,” he pouts, then thrusts his pelvis towards me. “Suck it better.”
“Fucking hell,” I growl, and he chuckles, a playful grin on his face. “I hope Lexi is level-headed. You’re enough brat for everyone around.”
“I’m not a brat,” he scoffs, pulling his pack of smokes out and lighting one up. “I’m a vibe.”
“You did not just say that.” I glare at him. “And those better be smokes, not a joint.”
He takes a puff and stares at it. “Uhh.”
“Christ,” I growl, opening his window. I snatch the joint from his hand and throw it out the window.
“Hey,” he grunts. “That was my last one.”
“Good. Because if you get stoned again, I’m going to drag your ass up to the woods and leave you there for the bears to eat.”
“I thought you loved me,” he grumbles, slouching down and putting his feet on the dash.
“I do love you, but I’m also losing my fucking mind. Sloane, we found her. We found Lexi, and we might have fucked it all up before we even got to officially meet her.”
“Ah,youfucked it up. I was just trying to clean up your mess.”
“Shut up before I stab you.”
“Mmm, yes, Daddy,” he growls. “Please do.”
“I fucking can’t with you today.”
On any other day, I’m used to Sloane’s antics. But my head is a mess, as is my heart.
Not only did I find the girl, but she’s also my scent match.
One thing I know for sure is, I’m not leaving this town without Lexi. And if she doesn’t want to go, well, I guess Widows Peak is my new home. Because there's no way in hell I’m ever losing her. Not after spending all this time trying to find her.
We pull up to the parking lot of the bakery, and I frown when I don’t see any cars around.
