“She’s fine,” Silva says. “Just being a big baby.”

“He can’t see without his glasses,” I sob harder into his chest.

“You let her watchMy Girl?” Emmett sighs. “You know how she gets.”

“She wanted to,” Silva defends. “Lexi, thank the nice man for bringing us food.”

“Huh?” I pull back and look over at her. She has two pizza boxes in one hand and a bag of what smells like Chinese food in the other. “You brought us food?” I look back at Emmett and start to cry again.

“Way to go, big guy. You broke her,” Silva groans.

“Sorry?” Emmett looks like a deer in the headlights.

“You’re so sweet,” I sob harder. “You thought of us. You’re feeding us.”

“Would you get a hold of yourself, woman?” Silva chastises. “Or I’m going to make him take you home.”

“But we’re not done with our movie.” I sniff, wiping at my eyes. “And I wanna stay.”

“Lexi,” Emmett says my name. “Take your food, go have fun with your sister, and I’ll see you later, okay?”

“Okay.” I nod, and Emmett leans down to kiss me.

“I love you,” he murmurs against my lips, and my heart swells.

“I love you too.”

Silva makes a gagging sound. “You two are disgustingly adorable.”

Emmett chuckles and kisses me again before leaving.

“I had no idea they made them like that.” Silva places the food on her coffee table as we settle back into the living room.

“Made what like what?”

“Men,” Silva moans. “So much yummy food.”

“The Cheese Knees has the best pizza ever,” I admit, taking a slice of cheese pizza from the box.

“You know, if you want to go hang out with Emmett, you can.”

“I’m not going anywhere,” I tell her. “We’re having sister time, and just because I have a new man in my life, doesn’t mean I’m going to make him my whole world.”

“Babe, he already has been for the past five years. The only thing changing is now you two will fuck and kiss.”

“Mhhmm,” I hum. “I do like the newly added benefits."

We both laugh and decide to change the movie to a comedy.

I end up falling asleep on the couch with Silva. I don’t know what time it is when I’m woken up from tapping at her window.

Sleepy-eyed, I sit up and look around. The TV is still on, the loading screen to the movie app we were using, giving the room some light. The tapping starts again, and my heart sinks when I realize it’s coming from her sliding door that leads into the backyard.

“Lexi, it's me.” Emmett’s muffled voice sounds from the other side, and I relax.

Rushing over, I open the door. “What are you doing here?”

“I wanted to see you.” He smiles down at me, and god, I swoon.
