“Yeah?” He smiles, moving his hand up to brush his thumb over my cheek.
“I want you to be mine,” I confess, heart pounding.
“Then I’m yours.”
“Just like that?” I laugh.
“I’ve been yours since the moment I laid eyes on you, so yeah, baby, just like that.”
“It’s weird hearing you call me baby.”
“Don’t like it?” He questions, raising a brow.
“I do.” I smile. “A lot.”
“Lexi.”
“Mhhm.”
“Be my Omega.”
My face splits into a grin. “Okay.”
His grin matches mine. “Yeah?”
“Yeah.” I giggle as he pulls me into his arms and kisses me until my head spins.
We cuddle for a long time, just enjoying the moment.
“Emmett?”
“Yeah?”
“Do you want a pack?”
“No,” he tells me. “It’s not something I’ve ever thought of, really. I’ve been content being alone... until I met you. You’re the only one I need, really.”
“Same.” I bury my face into his chest. “But what if we meet our scent matches?” Even though the idea of being tied to an Alpha terrifies me, I still wonder what it would be like.
“I don’t know,” he admits. “All I know is I’d have you by my side. They would have to accept that you’re number one and always will be.”
“Same.” I trace my fingers over the ridges of his abs.
“But let’s not worry about that,” he says. “All that matters is you, me and our life in Widows Peak. If something happens, we’ll deal with it then.”
“Okay.”
Once we drag ourselves out of the nest, Emmett works on getting everything packed while I grab all the soiled blankets.
“I destroyed your nest.” I cringe as I stare at the nearly empty space.
“But in the best way possible,” he chuckles. “Also, not all the blankets are dirty.” He grabs a few from the pile and examines them. “These don’t have anything on them.” He tosses them back into the nest.
“They have my scent on them.”
“So?” he raises a brow. “Even better."
“I can’t believe you’re so okay with me ruining your nest.”
