“Mine.” Luc infused the word with everything he had, leaving no room for question.

Dex nodded, his words breathless. “Yours. What are you going to do to me now that you’ve caught me?” His hint of melancholy had fled, a needy whine taking its place.

Luc straightened, looming over his captive mate. “Whatever I want. Whatever will please me most.”

That had been part of Dex’s fantasy—Luc doing ‘anything’ he wanted. Deciding for Dex what came next. Luc would grant his mate any wish, give him anything he wanted no matter how difficult, but this was easy. Fulfilling his mate’s needs transformed every little action into something important, and Luc felt powerful in the best way.

This was the kind of control he craved. Taking over was as much his fantasy as Dex’s.

Dex’s breathing shallowed, and his heart rate picked up. Hesquirmed in the sheets. “Please. Come on. What are you waiting for?”

“Are you being impatient?” Luc chided. Seemed he needed to remind Dex who was in charge.

“No.” Dex shook his head like pleasing Luc was more important than his own needs. Or like pleasing Luc was as much of a need as his desire to be used.

Luc’s fire smoldered. “I’d hope not. You can wait while I get ready. Can’t you?”

Dex bit his lip. “Yes, I can. I’m waiting.”

“Good.” Luc soaked up the renewed flush to Dex’s cheeks before sitting on the bed, facing away and undoing his shoes, taking his time with the laces.

After a long moment, Dex whined. “What are you doing?”

Aww, his mate sounded tortured, and after only the briefest diversion of Luc’s attention. Luc smiled. “Taking off my shoes. I can’t get this knot untied.”

Dex made an indignant sound. Yeah, he didn’t believe the lie, but he didn’t protest, trying so hard to be good for Luc.

Luc put his shoes and socks away, and at last returned his attention to Dex. His soft brown cheeks were flushed even darker, sweat lining his brow. Dex’s erection hadn’t flagged in the slightest.

“So good for me. A patient little captive. Ready for anything.” Luc licked his lips, and Dex sucked in a breath. “I can’t resist you, so it’s a good thing I don’t have to.”

“No, don’t resist. Please.”

Luc took off his pants.

Dex’s gaze dragged over him, straining to see Luc’s newly exposed skin, head tilted as much as possible. “I can’t touch you,” he whined, his arms flexing as he tugged on his bindings.

“No, tonight you’re mine. If you’re good, you can touch me next time.”

Dex nodded, eager to please as ever.

Luc loved giving them something to look forward to. It was vital for Dex to know his desire extended past this moment. That way, he could enjoy without worry. Dex liked fear, but that didn’t mean Luc should leave him wondering or afraid about what lay between them. Dex had to know he was secure. He was safe with Luc.

And Luc had to remind himself that this was their beginning. Having something to look forward to opened him up in a way he’d forgotten existed. It excited him like nothing else.

Luc lowered his underwear and fisted his cock, the physical pleasure almost an afterthought compared to the heat in his heart.

Dex’s tongue poked out, and he licked his lips almost like he couldn’t help it. Luc’s fire flared.

Claim.

He spread his wings and beat them, working off the urge to let his primal side take over.

Dex gasped, his gaze drawn away from Luc’s cock in wonder. Air swirled around them, Dex’s scent everywhere.

A hint of smoke tinged the air.

Luc climbed onto the bed, his tail winding back and forth, and he grabbed Dex’s ankles, spreading his legs.
