Titan blinked. “Huh.”
He pressed his nose to Mathlin’s neck and sniffed. “You smell different. Sweeter.” Then he flicked his tongue against Mathlin’s skin. “You feel fuzzier, too.”
Now that Mathlin was looking more closely, his skin did look... slightly furry. Fine hairs had sprouted all over his arms and body—grey hairs? “That’s so weird.”
Titan frowned, pressing his cheek to Mathlin’s forehead. “No fever. No sickness that I can smell.”
They stared at each other.
“What do you think is wrong?” Mathlin blurted.
“I don’t know,” Titan said.
