Crush’s laugh was a low, rich rumble that curled Killian’s toes. “I’m starting to think you were made for me. Even now, your body keeps sucking around my knot, trying to take it deeper.”
“I can’t help it! Your knot feels so good,” Killian mumbled. “I could stay knotted like this forever.”
Crush growled; it sent a thrill down Killian’s spine. He brushed his soft lips against Killian’s ear. Then he dragged the breakfast nook table back into place, tugging the plates of sandwiches back in front of them.
“They survived,” Killian said in surprise.
“I moved them out of the way before we got busy. Didn’t think you wanted roast beef smeared all over your belly.”
“Ugh! That sounds disgusting.”
Killian felt, more than saw, Crush’s smile. When he turned his head slightly, he found Crush watching him, a soft, warm look in his eyes.
Butterflies flooded his stomach. Somehow, this felt more intimate than Crush touching between his legs.
The incredible part was, this wasn’t even the first time Crush had looked at him like this today. Whenever Crush held and nuzzled him, Killian felt as though he was the only omega in the world, the only omega that Crush wanted to hold.
It was too good to be true.
How long would it last, anyway? He was only in this cabin with Crush through a stroke of luck. What if Crush found another omega that he liked better?
We’ve only spent two days together,Killian told himself. And one of them was months ago. Isn’t it too soon to feel this strongly about an alpha?
“What’s wrong?” Crush murmured, rubbing Killian’s chest.
Killian could tell him. But what if it made Crush feel obligated to be nice, when he would rather spend his time elsewhere?
So he shook his head. “Just thinking about some things. It’s okay. It’s not something you can help with.”
“Sweetheart, you know I’ll do anything to help you, right?”
Killian’s heart stuttered again. “I—I know. Thank you.”
Crush pressed his lips to Killian’s neck. “Eat.”
He slid over the soda cans; they were somehow still standing. Killian gulped his down, suddenly thirsty.
“Did I go too hard on your mouth earlier?” Crush whispered. “You stuffed me really deep.”
The soda left Killian’s mouth in a wide spray.
“Oh gods!” Killian coughed and spluttered, thumping his chest. “You can’t justsaythat!”
“Fuck. I’m sorry.” Crush fumbled for some tissues, handing them over. “I thought... Well, I thought you wouldn’t minddiscussing these things. You’re a rabbit. Rabbits have lots of sex.”
“Yeah, but...”I feel so self-conscious around you,Killian didn’t want to admit. Instead, he mumbled, “I can discuss things when they’re not about me. It’s totally different when it’s aboutme,and... when I’m talking with you.”
Why wouldn’t his face stop burning?
Crush rumbled loudly, his knot jerking inside Killian. “You’re so shy. It’s amazing.”
“Oh gods.”
“You didn’t answer my question, though. Is your mouth okay? Your throat?” Crush stroked Killian’s throat lightly, his fingertips gentle and warm.
If he wanted, he could hurt Killian so badly with just one hand. But he didn’t.
“They’re fine,” Killian said. “Feels like they got a workout.”
