“When we get back to town, I want you to come to my apartment,” Leo offers, as he skates off the ice and heads toward the locker room.

I stay back, shocked, but excited.

Chapter 14

Leo

Me: My address is 435 Champion Street. Apartment number 60 on the top floor. Use code 6969 to get into the private garage. Use the same code to access the elevator. Don’t worry, it’s very private.

I send the text to Nash and wait.

Inviting him to my apartment is a huge step for me.

For us.

I look around my apartment. The living room is spacious and modern. I have a large television mounted on the wall and twoblack leather couches facing it. I don’t care for art or clutter, so I keep it simple.

Nash: I’m here

The text comes through, and I grow excited. Soon enough, Nash knocked on my door. When I open the door, I lick my lips at the sight of him.

He’s wearing baggy gray sweats and a tight-fitting Stallions black t-shirt.

“Come in,” I offer.

He steps inside and looks around.

“You have a nice apartment,” he admires.

We walk further inside, and Nash moves to a large section of my apartment that is secretly my favorite spot. I have a love for reading, something most people don’t know about me.

He begins searching through my books. He pulls out a book, but I can’t see what it is.

“Is this Twilight?” Nash asks, laughing.

I walk over and take the book from him. “Yes.” I put it back on the shelf.

Nash smiles. “Like the Twilight with vampires and wolves?”

He’s enjoying this moment way too much.

“It’s a very popular book,” I argue.

To be fair, this is my second copy. I fell into the Twilight mania when the book first came out. I am a die-hard Edward fan. I mean, what gay guy doesn’t love a hot vampire who sparkles in the sunlight?

“Yes, if you are a teenage girl,” Nash quips.

I shake my head. “Well, it was nice having you over. Time to leave,” I say.

Nash just laughs again. “I saw the movies, but never read the books. I am team Jacob,” he tells me.

My mouth falls open, and I act wounded. “Ok, I guess we need to end this friendship now. I am team Edward.”

“You and Talia would get along. She’s team Edward, too,” Nash notes. He smiles softly at me, enjoying our banter.

It’s nice to see this funny side of him.

“You know, Axel had a huge crush on Bella when he was a teenager,” I tell him.
