He growls and I laugh as I turn back toward the TV,The Wedding Datestill playing on the screen. I love this movie, but I also can’t resist the way Royce reacts to me.

“Okay, so you can’t say the word fuck. Not a big deal.” I wiggle myself back against him, making him grunt, his breath hot against my neck. “There are plenty of other things you could say,” I whisper. “You could say something like, I want to be buried inside you. I want to be buried so deep that you don’t know where you end and I begin.”

He releases a shuddery breath.

“I’m going to smother you with this pillow if you don’t stop talking.”

“Now who’s the tease?”

ROYCE

Kinsley and I have been…involvedfor only two days and the woman is going to be the death of me, I just know it.

I’d made it through the entire first movie no problem. She’d still been sad, vulnerable, and I’d had no problem sandwiching myself between her and the back of the couch, holding her until she melted into me.

It had a wave of pride coursing through my veins—a masculine satisfaction that I’d brought comfort to this gorgeous woman.

It made me want to beat my chest like a caveman for a job well done.

The second movie, however, was a different story.

It was anextremetest of my restraint that I was unprepared for as she subtly pushed her body back against me, making her ass rub against my cock.

I’d already been running mindless lines of code in my head just to keep me breathing normally. I was on Kinsley overload and losing every ounce of willpower in the process.

She was in my clothes, on my couch, and in my arms.

I wanted her.

But she’d come to me for comfort, and I didn’t want to taint that by trying to get in her—my—pants.

Now, of course, she’s testing every ounce of patience I possess.

“Roy?”

“Yeah?”

“Can I stay here tonight?” Her voice is quiet as she reaches for her phone on the coffee table and unlocks the screen. I pause the movie as she hands it to me, her body seeming to curl away from me.

“Kins,” I breathe, as disbelief quickly morphs into rage. She tries to pull farther away but I hold her the best that I can, keeping my voice even as I say, “I’m going to figure this out, okay?” She nods against the pillow, and I hate that I can’t see her expression. “Look at me.”

Sighing, she rolls over, ducking her head under my chin and forcing me to wrangle her where I want her.

I mean to be gentle, but I’m exasperated by the time we’re finally face-to-face. My lips press hard against hers, and I suck on her bottom lip before nipping it with my teeth. Kinsley moans, teasing her tongue into my mouth and deepening the kiss.

“I like kissing you,” she says, her smile shy and her eyes a little glassy.

“Seems like the only way I can get your attention.”

She shrugs her shoulder. “I can think of worse things.”

“You’re infuriating. You know that, right?”

She grins like the Cheshire cat, a reference I only know because I looked it up after my uncle said it in passing.

The cat is freaky as hell but I think that’s the point.

“I’m really only like this with you,”—she pauses—“and Nessa but that’s because it’s our love language.”
