Exhaustion finally takes us, and I have no idea how long I sleep before a delightful sensation takes over my mind, coaxing me back to consciousness with a wet, hot need.
I wake to a tongue sliding up my cock, dipping into me. To lips, wrapping around the tip of me as a hand wraps around the base.
Everyone else is awake but me.
Chrys was right. This was going to be very dangerous.
Once I’m awake, Risk winks at me and I’m abandoned.
I don’t mind.
I roll onto my side and watch as Risk and Chrys worship Arc against the backdrop of furiously swirling snow.
But some of my enjoyment fades when I see the prickles across her skin.
I need to check the fire and… someone needs to answer the call.
I leave them distracting each other, pulling on pants and stumbling out to the living room.
Kissu sits on the sofa, looking smug… if a zurgle can look smug.
It takes a few minutes to get the fire built back up, but by the time I’m satisfied, the screen above it wakes up. An unintentional warning.
I answer the call before it can do more than chirp the incoming tone, sitting next to Kissu and scrubbing the fur between his ears the way that Chrys found makes him purr.
He draws Drift’s attention first. “I keep forgetting you have a new pet.”
The low grumble from beside me almost makes me chuckle. “I don’t think he likes being called a pet.”
Drift makes a noise that might be an agreement. At the very least, it’s an acknowledgement.
“Is there a reason for this call?”
“Checking in. Any problems with the storm?” Drift asks, his eerie eyes turning to me, and then his face jerks back and to the side, brow ridges pinching. “Oh.”
I don’t know what he sees with his mutated eyes. Honestly, I’m afraid to ask.
“We’re going to need a little alone time.”
“Of course. Have you registered the bond?”
“Not yet. We will.”
He hesitates, but asks, “Who will?”
I hadn’t considered the problem that might arise fromthat.Do we only register one of us as her mate? Would the system allow us to all be listed?
“I don’t know yet.”
“You don’t know?”
“I’ll have to ask Echo and Ion how they registered a multiple bond.”
“Oh.”
“I would appreciate it if you’d keep this information from the others until we’re ready for them to know.”
“You mean keep the information from Jessica.”
