“How much longer before mine will be ready?” he asked.

“Mr. Prather, I’m sorry. There is only one other suite, and I have just been informed that we aren’t going to be able to open it due to extensive water damage.”

“And someone couldn’t tell me that before now?”

“I’m sorry, sir. I’ve been on vacation, and I’m just returning today. I wasn’t aware of it until a few minutes ago.”

“Damn! I swear I’ve got the shittiest luck today.” He grumbled and threw his hands on top of his head.

“Navy? Would you like to share a suite with me?” I asked, walking closer to them.

Both the attendant and Navy turned their heads and stared at me. Shrugging, I double downed on it. “I mean, I’m sure the accommodations are comfortable enough and sufficient to serve us both.”

He looked back at the attendant, and she nodded, probably hoping that he would go along with it.

“Are you sure?”

“Yes. I would love to have you.”

“I’ll be a complete gentleman,” he replied and grabbed his bag.

“I would hope not,” I stated as we followed the attendant.

After she unlocked the suite, she spent a few minutes showing us around before she left us alone. The sexual tension filled the air, and I didn’t want to converse any longer. I wanted to handle the business I laid on the table earlier.

“Listen, I can head back outside while you shower if that will make you more comfortable.”

“Honey, I’ve done more than shower around strangers. I’m good if you are.” I had lived a fast-paced life in the world of fashion and modeling, and I made no apologies or excuses for it. I wasn’t proud of all that I had done, but I owned it. Yes, I had tried drugs before. I had multiple sex partners at once, been involved with women a time or two, and even participated in quite a few orgies. In that world, I was introduced to a lot of dark things, plenty of which I indulged in, and plenty that I turned away from.

When I met JoJo, I was looking for something normal that would help me find my way out of the darkness and back into the light. I had a hard time forgiving her, not because of her sexuality but because of the lies and manipulation. The one thing I had always done, no matter what activities I was involved with, was be honest with myself and the participants.

“Definitely am,” he stated, licking his lips.

“Perfect. Make yourself comfortable,” I stated, pointing at the TV in the seating area.

I showered and returned to the bedroom area within twenty minutes. Wearing a short nightie and nothing more, I stepped into the living area where he was watching TV. He held a glass of whiskey in one hand and a banana in the other, odd combination.

“You can shower now if you’d like,” I offered.

He peeled his gaze away from the TV and up to me. I bit back my reaction when he crushed the banana in his hand once his gaze landed on me.

“Sorry. I hope this isn’t offensive. I didn’t have anything else to sleep in.”

His mouth hung open, and I finally chuckled. “You’ve got a little something there,” I teased, rubbing the side of my lips.

He shook his head, closed his mouth, and stood. “My bad. Forgive me if I’m a little starstruck, Nyako.”

“Sweetheart, it ain’t the stars that’s got you struck.”

“You’re damn right about that.”

I headed back inside of the room while he gathered his things. I rested in bed and tried not to think about the rugged man in the bathroom on the other side of my door.

There was no way that he would be sleeping on that couch tonight. Not when there was a bed here that was perfectly capable of holding the two of us. I licked my lips thinking about what I would like to happen.

It had been just over three years since I had been with a man, and I wasn’t about to let the opportunity pass.

When he stepped out of the bathroom, my eyes dragged up from the book that I was reading to meet his heated gaze. Beads of water coated his beautiful brown skin, and his wet hair shone like the inky black sky above.
