“I guess I expected more beat and less actual music!”
“Nobody can create a mood like DJ DVLN! Nobody does it like he does!” Sophie screamed. “And he’s soooo fucking sexy!” Colton conveniently ignored the last thing Sophie said.
Sophie quickly explained that Dean usually performed four or five live numbers in each show. He was the only DJ that would step out from behind the decks and perform live during a show, making him truly one of a kind.
Throughout the show, Colton heard songs that really moved him. He searched for them on Shazam and learned that they were all either Dean’s songs, or Dean’s remixes of songs. There was even one remix of a Taylor Swift song that Colton absolutely loved, and he wasn't exactly a Taylor Swift fan.
At one point in the show, Dean previewed his new song 'Come on', which also featured the music video with Colton and the team playing on the giant screens.
Sophie squealed and posted on her socials…
@CM24 and @DJDVLN TOGETHER!
This was Colton’s first time actually seeing the finished product. The video was badass, high energy, and hype as fuck! There were many moments of Dean and Colton together in the video. They had captured the essence and excitement of football perfectly. No wonder the team wanted to use it at home games!
Colton smiled and watched the video on the screen, remembering the day of the filming—their first handshake, the electricity when their hands touched. He recalled Dean being so kind to Tommy, and getting Dean into his football gear, he remembered being surprised at Dean’s muscles; and how he'd been totally shocked to learn that he wasn’t just another self-absorbed Hollywood type. He remembered…it was a good fucking day.
After about two and a half hours, the show finally came to an end with a thunderous ovation.
As Sophie and Colton gathered their things, a security guard approached and invited them backstage.
As they stepped behind the proverbial curtain, they were met with a celebration, high fives, cocktails, and smiles. Colton noticed they were the only VIP’s there.
Was no one else invited?he wondered.
Dean welcomed Sophie and Colton with a smile.
“Oh my God! You have the biggest, cutest dimples I have ever seen!” Sophie shrieked and went in for a hug.
“And you are even more gorgeous in person,” Dean said as he returned the hug. “Colton, you are one lucky man!” He slapped his shoulder.
The dancers recognized Sophie immediately and ran over to meet her, squealing, showering her with compliments and admiration.
“Sophie Carroll! Oh. My. Gawd! I love you!” Sean screamed.
“Holy shit! Sophie Carrol! You arethebitch!” Justin said.
“Look atyou, lady! You are flawless!” Jax exclaimed, snapping his fingers.
“Back off, Miss Thing, I saw her first,” Sean snipped.
“Please, mama, she’s not some boy you’re trying to pick up at the bar. She’s Sophie fucking Carroll, and it doesn’t matter who saw her first.” Jax scoffed.
“Gurl, you know if it was a boy, you’d havenochance!” Nelly interjected.
“Sweetie, you need to worry about those two left feet of yours instead of trying to pick up boys,” Jax snapped his fingers at Nelly.
At that, the dancers all laughed hysterically.
“Okay ladies, there’s plenty of me to go around.” Sophie grinned, snapping her fingers right back, enjoying the attention immensely.
“Hi, Sophie. I’m Jax.” Jax stepped forward to offer a handshake. “But if you catch my drag show at The Manhole, I go by Candy Samples.” He smirked with delight dancing in his eyes.
Sophie giggled, “It’s lovely to meet you, Miss Candy Samples.”
The introductions and adoration continued as Colton nervously shifted from foot to foot, trying to stay out of the conversation and out of the line of fire.
Dean chuckled and shook his head at his dancers. “Come on,” he said as he led Colton by the arm. “Let me get you a drink and show you around.”
