She studies me for a moment, and I’m worried it’s too much, but then she curls her dainty fingers around my wrist and lifts my hand, sticky with my orgasm, to bring it to her mouth, where she sucks on my fingers.

“You are filthy, aren’t you?” I murmur, feeling my dick stir to life again, and she sends me a sardonic look.

“Me?” she says around my ring finger. “You’re the one with a breeding kink.”

I automatically glance down to her flat stomach, and she laughs, setting my hand over it, my fingers spanning across her middle and up to her ribs. “Yes, I will get tested, so we don’t have to use a condom. Yes, I want you to come inside me. Yes, I eventually want children, but that’s a long way off.”

“But for now, we can pretend?” I hedge, and she nods.

“Practice makes perfect.” She tows me down to her, nipping at my bottom lip. “But the first thing we need to decide before you put a baby in me is what we do about us.”

“About us?”

“Your life is public, and I’m not saying I want to hide our relationship, but I’d like to stay out of the public eye as much as possible. I’m not going to give up my career for you, no offense.”

I chuckle against her throat. “None taken.”

“I have things I want to accomplish as Nadine Rivera that have nothing to do with being Camden Long’s girlfriend. I know what it’s like. I know how Molly struggles with balancing her life with Erik’s, and I don’t want that for myself.”

“I get it,” I tell her, cradling her head between my hands, holding myself over her in a plank on my elbows. “But Molly’s work is on social media. She’s posting every day and working with brands and doing that whole influencer thing. You can do whatever you want, stay in the shadows or be out in the spotlight, I don’t care. Only that you’re with me.”

She considers me seriously, nodding after a minute. “Okay.”

“But while we’re on the subject, I do think we should keep us on the down-low for now. I’m going to need to talk to Erik, and I don’t want to do it while we’re in season.”

She doesn’t seem to like that idea.

“You’re his sister, and I think he’s going to need to be eased into the idea of us being together.”

“Why do people keep saying stuff like that? Emmaline said the same thing. That he’ll flip when he finds out.”

I tilt my head in question. “Your sister knows about us?”

“No. Well, she had an idea. When I stayed with her in NewYork, she figured something was happening between us and basically said Erik would lose it. Why? It’s not like he’s an unreasonable guy.”

“No, but you’re his sister, his favorite sibling, and even though I’m his best friend, he’s seen me at my worst, and he said he would never want me to date one of his sisters.”

“When?”

I shrug my shoulder, settling my lower half in the pocket of her open legs, reflexively pushing her thighs wider with mine. “For some social media thing. They asked us which teammate we wouldn’t want dating our sister, and he said me.”

“That’s for social media, though. He didn’t really mean it,” she says, though she’s lost some of her vigor. Like she can understand Erik’s point.

Ican understand Erik’s point.

I was a dick. I made bad decisions, but I am going to try my best to show everyone, including my best friend, why I deserve a chance with Nadine.

“Either way…” I place kisses along her breastbone. “I want to wait until after the season to tell your brother.”

“What about your sister?” she asks, playing with the hair at the nape of my neck. “Because I’m pretty sure she suspects.”

“I’ll talk to her. Explain the situation because I’m not going to keep my hands to myself in my own home.”

“Can I sleep in your bed?”

I lift my head, surprised she’d even ask. “You better.”

She shimmies her shoulders, getting more comfortable, almost as if she plans on sleeping in my bednow.
