He rocked me back against my alpha, gently at first and then harder, using him for leverage as his thrusts deepened. His eyes locked to mine, shining against the darkness of his alfar form. Wide, a little hesitant, checking my reaction, as if still concerned I might forget and allow the shadows to slip away in the heat of the moment.
:I won’t forget,:I promised him, sinking my fangs into his throat.:You’re as safe with me as I am with you.:
His essence filled me, sweeping me toward a dark rising cliff. Mingling with his semen in a volatile cocktail. Poisonous or not, I could feel power swelling in my blood. Shadows leaked free of me again, filling the room in billowing black clouds.
His cock swelled against the confining shadows, ridges rippling against my inner walls. His stride quavered a moment, his fingers reflexively clutching at me with alarm. But it felt incredible. Not painful. All the texture sliding and scraping inside me, still safely cushioned enough to not harm me in the slightest.
Assured I was still unharmed, he lifted me higher against Dörr, raising my hips up so he could get deeper. Even heavy thrust rocking me harder against sheer unmovable muscle. Front to back. Slamming harder, as if determined to destroy this bed as well.
He gripped my nape, pinning me against my alpha’s bulk. His eyes glittered with a deadly look never intended for such a soft color. “You’re not soaring.”
His tone laced with menace again, making me shiver deliciously. I bit him again, opening my jaws wide. Gripping as much of his flesh in my mouth as possible. Holding him inside me. Opening my throat so he could gush into me.
Floodgates. Opened. Blasting me up over the edge of the cliff into darkness. My Darkness. Soaring so high we fell. Falling so hard we flew. I wasn’t sure which. He exploded inside me,his barbs hooking deep. I cried out but didn’t release my bite. I shuddered and came again, wave after wave of pleasure, dragging us both into oblivion.
Complete Darkness surrounded us, as if I’d somehow opened a way back to Hel. Weight pressed against me on all sides, surrounding me in familiar flesh and scents. Dark alfar. My bear. Fresh snow drifting on salty sea air. Cocooning me in drowsy warmth.
But I didn’t want to sleep.
I’d promised Svar I would soar.
I started to crawl out from beneath their weights, but something was caught. Hung up beneath them. My hair? No. I’d lost my hair to Jörmungandr.
“Hold on, my queen. I’ll get you out.”
I recognized Myrk’s voice, but I wasn’t sure what he meant. Get me out? Of what? I pulled harder, flopping awkwardly. I didn’t feel right. My balance was off. My head was too large, somehow. I tried to tell him, but a terrible croak came out of my throat.
Myrk’s amethyst eyes appeared in the darkness. “Goddess below.” He rolled Svar aside with a heavy oomph. “I thought all those wings were theirs.”
I made another harsh sound and his eyes flared. He nodded, moving quickly to the large window overlooking the sea. “Of course, you’ll want to test them out.”
Since my voice didn’t work, I asked in his bond.:Test what?:
“Your wings, my queen.” He fumbled with the controls, muttering beneath his breath. “The one time I need the damned bear to make himself useful he’s dead to the world. Get up, you fool. Gunnarr!”
Gunnarr sucked in a loud snore and sat up. “What? What’s going on?”
“Our queen needs fresh air. Help me get this window open.”
He stretched lazily, turning his head toward me. Froze. Eyes flaring wide. “Oh my.”
“Exactly. Get your ass over here and help me before she breaks the glass in a panic.”
:I’m not panicked.:Though my heartbeat quickened.:Why did you say wings?:
Gunnarr scrambled across Lokken’s legs and the rest of the bed to help Myrk. He hit some buttons and the thick glass started to slide down into the floor.
A salty gust of air rippled leather around me. Caressing my skin. The night sky beckoned. Dark above and below, the horizon disappearing into the dark sea, making them one.
Shifting to his dark alfar, Myrk leaped up onto the window ledge, perched like a giant gargoyle. Wings folded close to his body but arched up over his shoulders, ready to fly. He cocked his head, glancing back at me with a challenge sparkling in his eyes.:Come soar with me.:
I sat up. Or tried. My body didn’t bend like I expected. I glanced down at myself and stared, transfixed with awe.
I looked like him. Dark alfar. Black, thick hide glistened with an oily sheen. Vicious claws and talons on the ends of my feet and hands. I opened my mouth to shout or laugh, I wasn’t sure, but then remembered I couldn’t talk anyway. At least not yet. I ran my tongue around my mouth, gingerly feeling the sharp obsidian shards replacing my teeth.
Leather rustled again. Wings. Eyes wide, I craned my neck around, trying to see how they were attached. Lined with velvety sable-like fur, covered in dull black skin so thin I could almost see through it.
Goddess. My eyes filled with tears.Thank you.
