Hazel and Walter both started laughing and laughing hard.

Florence squinted her eyes at Jamie.“If you weren’t the boss...I’d...I’d do something.I don’t know what right off, but it would be something!”

Everyone in the kitchen laughed at that, even Joesph.

Mike walked into the kitchen via the back door.“What’s so funny? What I miss?”

“We were just discussing Flo’s age,” Jamie said.

Everyone started laughing, again.

“Well...I never!”Florence stood up straight and started toward the dining room.

“Hell, at your age, I bet you’ve done it at least twice!”Jamie yelled out after her.

Hazel had bent over at the waist, and she was laughing so hard.“Oh, Jamie, you’ve gone and done it now. That red hair on her head prob’ly has a hornet’s nest in it.”

Mike chuckled along with the others.“I’ve got all the stuff you asked for.”He thumbed over his shoulder.

“Salzy, Dexter, can you guys get the supplies out of Mike’s truck, please?”Jamie held up his flour-covered hands.

The two men followed Mike out the back door.

Jamie couldn’t help but notice Mike’s butt, which looked like two fine hams, tightly wrapped in khaki.Oh...My...God.Jamie had to shake his head to get his focus back to what he was doing.

“Don’t worry about cleaninganything in the dining room,” Jamie told the three waitresses.“Unless it’s something that has to be cleaned.”

“You don’t have to worry about that,” Hazel said, her feet propped up on a chair in front of her.

“I’m going to have a look at what’s in the walk-in.I’ll make us all dinner.Don’t know what it’ll be yet.I want to clean out whatever is in there.”

“As long as I don’t have to get up for it,” Florence said.

Jamie looked over at Minnie. The poor woman looked utterly worn out.
