The flare of heat in her eyes encouraged him to guide her to his aching cock until he hit the back of her throat. She gagged. “That’s my girl.” Pulling back on her hair, he moaned at the feel of her lips dragging along his shaft. “I’m going to fuck your mouth. Don’t forget to swallow.”

Nodding, she lifted her gaze to his, and he was lost. He braced himself with one arm and moved her head with the other, thrusting his hips with every downward movement of her slick mouth.

Instead of gagging, she swallowed, taking him deeper with every thrust. Each stroke was pure ecstasy. His wife had the mouth of a goddess. “You’re perfect,” he grunted, moving her faster.

Tears leaked from the corners of her eyes and drool dribbled down her chin. Roman’s balls tightened, and a shiver raced down his spine. Seconds later, he shot hot ropes of cum down his mate’s throat, and like the good girl she was, she drank it all.

Their rhythm slowed, and when his cock softened, he withdrew from heaven and pulled her into his arms. “Apology accepted.”

The next morning, Violet woke alone to the sound of Babs squawking outside of the bedroom door. Grumbling, she threw back the bedclothes and trudged to the door.

Throwing it open, she glared at Babs. The hen charged inside and flapped her wings at Violet’s feet.

“It’s a little early for you to be causing such a fuss.” The hen pecked at her shin and Violet scooted back. “Bad chicken. That hurts.” Babs ran forward and pecked her again but much softer. Violet snorted. “So, you do understand me.”

Bending down, she scooped Babs into her arms. “What has you so wound up, pretty girl?”

Babs burrowed into Violet’s chest. “You spoiled thing. I’m going to set you down.” The hen bristled, and Violet tutted. “I have to get dressed.”

Dressed and ready for the day, Violet carried Babs outside and let her loose in the courtyard. The hen trailed her to the gate, and Dani popped her head around to look through the gate. “It’s pointless to put her in the coop,” Violet explained. “She’ll escape.”

She unlocked the gate and Babs went nuts, running forward and flapping her wings. Violet closed the gate and looked down at the frantic hen. “What has gotten into you?” The hen clucked and ran in circles around her legs.

A growl sounded from outside the gate, and War stared at Babs. The latter charged the gate, sending the tigon scrambling backward. “Babs, stop teasing War. You can’t come with us to the beach.”

Babs flapped in protest, and Violet blew out a long breath. “Fine, but I’m putting you on a leash.”

War snorted, and Dani whipped around. “Don’t provoke her,” she admonished the beast. The guards had a rapport with the tigon because he waited at the gate for Violet if he’d been out hunting and lazing around the jungle the night before.

Violet spun around and hurried toward the house. “I’ll be right back.”

“What do you mean she lost her?” Roman demanded.

His mother rubbed her forehead. “Tilly must eat. She stayed close, but somehow Vivian slipped away.”

Roman slammed his fist down on his desk; a resounding crack splintered across the room.

“Do not throw a fit with me,” Sarah scolded her son. “If you had brought her in from the start, we wouldn’t be dealing with this now.”

She was right, but had he brought her in, he couldn’t have discovered her true intentions. He had a feeling Vivian had ties to the rebels, otherwise, she wouldn’t have been there during the border attack.

If they’d captured her, they’d never know. Violet would never consent to the torture of her sister, and Roman refused to hide things from her.

“Send War out to find her,” his father suggested. “He can track her.”

“I’ll not leave Violet unprotected, and I doubt she would willingly follow me around all day.”

“Honey,” his mother interjected. “Violet is a royal now. She can glamour herself invisible.”

True, but he didn’t like the idea of her being alone. “I’ll skip our council meetings, and you can plan her coronation without me,” he decided. “I’ll stay with her and go wherever she wants.”

His father’s jaw hardened. “The council needs their king right now. Our spies think the rebel factions are working together. If they all attack at once, we need to be ready.”

Roman rubbed his temples. This is a fucking mess.“She willnotgo unprotected until we find Vivian.” Or ever.
