He holds his gun to my temple. “Oh really? Then you can imagine my pleasure when he chose to stay with me and never see your face again.”
“No…that’s not true,” I mutter. “He would never choose you. You must’ve lied to him again or tricked him.”
“He knows what I did to his family and chose to stay with me,” he muses arrogantly, and leans over my ear. “If you try to run away or any other stupid trick, I’ll rape him in front of you, then I’ll kill you.”
My heart stalls and nausea churns in my stomach. “You wouldn’t…I don’t believe you. Don’t youcareabout him? How can you say shit like that?”
He shoves me forward and continues to lead us into a massive room. I now see that we’re in an old, abandoned warehouse. “Of course I care about him, but when you truly want something you must be ready to lose it.”
This is worse than I thought. He’s completely lost his fucking mind. A true fucking psychopath who doesn’t actually care about thedestruction he leaves behind on his quest to catch his prey. Aoi is in danger with him, and there’s no way in hell I’m leaving him here.
“I won and there’s nothing you can do about it.” He shoves me against the concrete floor, and I gasp for air, crying out as my broken ribs hit the ground hard.
“Now stay put if you don’t want me to turn my threat into reality,” he growls, tying the chains to the metal ring on the ground. “I’ll go pay him a visit in the meantime.”
“Don’t you touch him,” I grit out. “I’m warning you. If you touch him, I’ll kill you. Do you hear me? I’ll fucking kill you!”
I feel the blow to my jaw before I see him move. Coughing and ears ringing, my head sinks against the concrete. I heave harshly, trying desperately to inhale air but dust crowds my lungs and burns my airways.
“Kill me?” he mocks. “You can’t even save yourself, but you want to kill me for touching what belongs to me? You’re nothing but a pathetic parasite in my way. You will never make it out of here alive if I don’t allow it.”
It hurts. It hurts, Aoi. Where are you? Please come back to me.
“I wonder how many blows to your face are needed for you to drop dead.” He tugs my hair back, forcing me to look at him as blood trickles down my nose and my busted lip. “Should we see? Count for me then.”
“Fuck…you.”
He shoves my head against the ground and makes a disappointed sound. “You forgot to count. I suppose we must do it again until you learn obedience.”
“I’d rather die,” I spit, grunting from the buzzing in my skull.
“I would love to grant your wish. Unfortunately, my dear would be extremely upset, and I can’t afford that right now.”
“Fuck you.”
“No, thank you. I don’t fancy brats like you.”
“That’s rich coming from you.” I scoff. “That’s right you like naïve, sweet kids like Aoi was.”
Jason watches me for a moment, a vein popping in his forehead then walks out through the door we came in, leaving me behind on the cold concrete floor.
I scan my surroundings and notice how empty the place is.
How did he even acquire an entire abandoned warehouse? Did he plan all of this in advance?
He has to have planned this or else I don’t know how to explain this messed up turn of events. I don’t have time to question his fucked up mind. I have to find a way to get us out of here.
Okay, Visha think hard for once. I don’t have my phone, so I can’t contact Bellami. I’m chained to the ground, injured and the most problematic part is that he has a gun.
I don’t care about getting myself out of here, but Aoi is in danger as long as Jason is breathing.
Tugging as hard as I can on the chains, I groan loudly from the pain exploding in my ribcage. I hate to admit it, but Jason is right. How am I supposed to help Aoi when I can’t even help myself?
But now is not the time to lose hope and dwell on my worthlessness. I need to get him out of here.
No matter what, Aoi needs to live.
He gave me a future. It’s time I return the favor.
