“I’m the strongest,” I agreed.

My chest burned, rage swelling until it transformed into an all-consuming need for revenge. I kissed her on the tip of the nose and stood as Grimm got out of his Jeep and walked toward us. His normally put-together appearance was a mess, with his hair untidy and his jaw unshaven. He wore a white singlet and a pair of shorts, something he’d clearly rushed to put on to get where he needed to go. I didn’t know how he was the point of contact for Cyclone, but I didn’t care.

I glared at him. “You. Stay with them. No matter what.”

Grimm raised his chin, determination in his dark brown eyes. “I’ll guard them with my life, sir.”

I inhaled and touched Finn’s elbow, getting his attention. With a kiss on Cyclone’s cheek, we left them there in Grimm’s capable hands. I knew him and his devotion to our family, especially Cyclone, so he’d do as he said. I guided Mercy, Finn, and Hero toward my workroom on the bottom floor of the house. I shoved open the door into the woodshop and prowled toward the corner.

Some of the space was filled with logs that I’d bought from a local bloke who owned acres of land. He cut the trees regularly and I was the first one he offered them to because I paid a good price. In my slow time, I enjoyed working with my hands, and making my own furniture saved me from paying exorbitant prices for custom-made items I needed due to my height. But while I played, it was Danger who was the expert. No one would know it looking at his tattooed skin and lethal appearance, but he liked time by himself, and he was even better than I was with his hands. He molded wood as if it was his second nature and he created beautiful pieces that left people who saw them in awe.

In the far corner of the room there seemed to be nothing but a tall single-door cabinet made of light brown timber, but there was much more there than met the eye. I shifted the cabinet out of the way and knelt. The wooden floor fit in with the use of the room, but it hid a secret I was proud of. With a simple knock on a section where the cabinet had sat, a cut-out area of the floorboards shifted, and I was able to tug the square out of its place, which opened up storage beneath it.

Reaching inside, unbothered that I might encounter a snake in there, I found the guns I was searching for and began to pull them out. Hero was waiting right behind me, and he took each weapon I handed him, passing them on to Finn and Mercy. I did the same with the boxes of bullets, so not only were we armed, but we had ammo as well.

“I didn’t know you had these,” Finn murmured, a brief flash of concern passing across his face.

After I found my handgun, a Desert Eagle, and ammo, I replaced the wood in the floor and rose. It didn’t take much to move the cabinet back into place. I opened the magazine of the Desert Eagle, smiling in delight when I saw the .50 action express, a large-caliber cartridge. This was going to be fun. I stuffed the extra magazines in my pockets.

We had holsters, too, but there was no point for them here. We weren’t wearing the kind of clothing we could hide them in, and we were taking the guns for action.

“Let’s go.”

Mercy was already on his phone, typing quickly as we headed out of the workshop together.

I tucked Finn under my arm and nodded down at him. “Do you want to wear that or change, Lolly? It’s completely up to you.”

He glanced at himself, picking up the hem of his pretty dress before his jaw firmed again. He focused on me. “I’m going like this. It doesn’t matter what I wear. I can still kill them for hurting my girls.”

I patted him on the arse. “That’s my Lolly.”

He grinned at me, and together we stalked toward some cars that pulled up in the driveway. There was an array of different SUVs, purposely chosen so we didn’t alert anyone with a line of vehicles of the same brand and color. We got into a red Jeep Cherokee with dark tinted windows. From the corner of my eye, I noticed Cillian and Fallon, and Cillian gave me a sharp nod, telling me they were ready for action. Our men were being given balaclavas to hide their faces before they got into the cars.

Mercy opened the driver-side door of our Jeep and jabbed his finger at the wheelman. “Get the fuck out. I’m driving.”

I rolled my eyes with a chuckle.

My door opened again, and I was surprised to see Mum there, a Glock clutched in her hands and a steely stare that would have made weaker men’s balls shrivel.

“Move over,” she snapped. “I’m coming with you.”

Finn made a sound of disbelief, but I shook my head, not fazed by her sudden appearance. I was hoping to get away before she found out what had happened.

“Go inside, Mum.”

Her furious eyes widened in disbelief. “Thesemenshot at my daughter and granddaughter. If you think I am going back into that house while you go get revenge, boy, then you don’t know me at all. Move the fuck over before I drag you out of this vehicle and take your spot.”

“No.” I snapped my fingers over her shoulder, and within seconds, one of my men grabbed her around the waist. She screamed, kicking and yelling obscenities that would mortify the neighbors, but I neither cared nor was concerned. The rich fuckers could mind their own business.

“Legend! Don’t do this to me. She’s my daughter.” Mum managed to get the man in the eye with a good right hook, and when he dropped her in pain and surprise, another grabbed her before she could make it to the Jeep. He dragged her more securely toward the house, her screaming and curses growing louder.

“Make sure you lock her in her room if you have to,” I ordered, closing my door again. When I settled into my seat, I noticed Finn’s concerned frown. “Don’t. It’s better this way. She survived cancer, Lolly. She needs to be healthy, and Stormy needs her grammy right now.”

“She’s going to kill you when we get home.” Finn grinned and leaned his cheek on my shoulder. “And I’m going to watch and laugh.”

The Jeep began to move, heading out of the driveway and onto the steep road that led from our house and down Castle Hill.

I chuckled. He was probably right. “Have you got your gun ready? This is going to be fast. We need to get in and out before the coppers turn up.”
