He stared at me and swallowed hard. His bottom lip quivered, and then he cleared his throat. “I’ve never done that. I always make the men I’m with wrap up.”

I tweaked his nipples.

He dug his teeth into his lower lip.

“I can prove I’m negative. Would that be enough for you?” I asked.

He stared into my eyes, and I wasn’t certain what he was searching for, but he must’ve found it, since he nodded. “I trust you without flashing around paperwork. You haven’t lied to me yet. But shouldn’t you ask me if I’m negative?” He gave me a little scowl that made me want to go after his pretty lips.

“Are you?”

He nodded. “But don’t you want to—”

Pulling him tighter to me, I laid a hard kiss on his lips until he made another sexy sound, deep in his throat. “I don’t share. And I won’t go anywhere else.”

He licked his lips. “And you want to come in me?”

“That’s about the size of it. I want you dripping with me.” I rocked my hips and nudged him with my cock.

He chuckled. “I like the sound of that.”

I caressed one of his scars, and he stiffened. It was a shock as he tried to jerk his face away, but I cupped his cheeks between my hands, not allowing him to escape.

“How did it happen, Lolly?” I whispered.

His chest rose and fell in deep pants, but the lust in his gaze shifted to something deeper. The trauma in his eyes spoke volumes and his jaw tightened. “An accident while I was doing work for Mr. Killough.”

“Hm.” I brushed my knuckle over one of his scars, and he winced away from me. “You’re so fucking beautiful.”

“I’m not,” he argued, anguish laced in his voice like poison. “I used to be, but not anymore. That’s why I wanted to go out last night in my special clothes. I wanted to feel beautiful again. It didn’t work.” He shook his head and his grip on me loosened. “I used to walk into a Miami club and the men were all over me. They loved me. Now.... Well, you saw what happened. I’m a joke.”

His words stirred anger inside me that had my inner monster raging. I hadn’t become a mob boss for my good looks, and when push came to shove, I was a fucking lunatic. This time, it was because of the men who’d made him feel this way. I wanted to find them and rip their balls off before I gutted them and fed them to the crocs.

I held his face tighter in my palms and stared deeply into his eyes. “You. Are. A. Fucking. Beauty. You make my cock harder than any other man.” His attention dropped to my lap, and I bucked my hips, even though he was still sitting on me, so he couldn’t see the bulge in my shorts, but he could definitely feel it. “I am the only man that matters, and you are mine now. Anyone who looks at you the wrong way will be fed to my crocs, okay?”

“You have crocs?” His eyes shined, almost like he was holding back tears.

I chuckled. “I know a guy. We’ve also got roos and cassowaries.”

“What are cassowaries?” he asked innocently.

I pressed my forehead to his. “The closest fucking thing you’re going to get to a dinosaur, sweetheart.”

His eyes widened.

“Now, listen to me very carefully,” I said, tone deepening. “If one man says a negative thing to you, tell me, and I will handle him. Trust me. I will never let anyone hurt you again.”

“That’s a big promise.” He slanted his mouth over mine, though, and kissed me hard. He sucked on my bottom lip, and I carded my fingers through his brilliant hair, grabbing a strand to tug playfully, which elicited a moan from him.

A knock on the door made me tense, and I inwardly cursed the brave bastard who dared to interrupt us. I reluctantly pulled back from his honeyed mouth.

“Who the fuck is it?” I growled out in anger.

The door opened, and Mercy, my best mate, stepped through. He was a tall guy with short honey blond hair and a million freckles across a wide nose and long face. He was hairy as fuck, too, with a clean-cut beard but an unchecked thatch on his chest. He liked to wear his shirt half unbuttoned, which meant everyone got a view of all the caveman bush he kept under there.

I groaned. “Fuck. Didn’t take Hero long.”

Mercy crossed his arms, mouth twisted. “Wasn’t Hero.”
