His eyes glittered in amusement. “Yeah? How big was it?”
“Huge.” I slid my tongue over my upper lip, then pressed it to the back of my teeth. “The hot firefighters couldn’t keep their eyes off it. They wanted me.”
He grunted and some of the amusement slid away, replaced by a jealousy that had my insides heating. I missed him so fucking much. “They were hot, huh?”
“Soooo hot.” I waggled my eyebrows.
“Boy, don’t make me spank you when I get home.” His voice dropped a few octaves and his eyes narrowed. “I will do it.”
I laughed and raised my palm to him. “Fine, no more mentioning those sexy firefighters.”
“But you’re good? Everything is working okay?”
Huffing, I ended up chuckling, which turned into another full-blown laugh. “The equipment is functional.” Groaning, I flopped back against my pillows. “Trust me.”
Aspen hummed. “You got it stuck and still can’t leave it alone, huh?” His lips twitched. “You’re a dirty boy.”
Turning, I buried my face against the pillow for a second.
“Fallon?” Aspen’s tone made it clear he was worried, so I rolled over to smile at him.
“I came when the ring busted. It was such a fucking relief, and I couldn’t stop it. The firefighter that cut it off was a woman, so I guess technically that’s the first chick who ever saw me come,” I said in an embarrassed rush, then tugged the two halves of the ring out of my pocket. I waved the metal in front of the phone. “I’ll put these on your dresser.”
Aspen’s smile was amused, and relief had my heart speeding along faster. “Are you okay? You haven’t answered my question.”
Frowning, I nodded, then grinned. “Vail and Rowen were with me. It was a lot, and I wish you could’ve been there, but we got through it.”
Aspen smiled. “Good. Tell me about your day.”
There wasn’t much to say because we’d been so lazy, and Aspen couldn’t tell me what he and Cillian were up to other than “enjoying our vacation in Miami,” so after about a minute of staring at him and wishing he was home with all my heart, I blurted, “I miss you.”
Aspen nodded. “We’re doing our best to get home. I promise.” There was a sadness in his eyes that I hated.
“The next time you or Cillian go on a trip, I’m coming, too.” I pointed at him.
He chuckled. “The boss gets to decide who goes.”
“I’ll ask Conall. He’s on my side, you know.” I stuck out my tongue at him.
He laughed.
“I don’t have anything to tell you, but I don’t want you to go.” I crossed my arms as much as I could while still holding the phone up so we could talk.
“I love you. Take care of yourself. I don’t want any more calls from the hospital.” He dipped his chin toward his chest and glared.
“I don’t do this stuff on purpose.” I rolled my eyes.
Aspen only snorted.
“I love you, too.”
Aspen ended the call because he wasn’t the type of guy to hang out after everything important had been said, not even for me, and I was sad when the screen went blank. I let the phone drop to my chest and stared at the ceiling.
What would Aspen do if he were here? God, what would Cillian do if he were here? It would be bad. He would make sure I was in real trouble for causing so many issues. My dick hardened, and even though I missed them both so much it felt like a rock sat on my chest, I shifted around so I could give my dick breathing room, spreading my legs.
My junk was working fine, I hadn’t lied, but things were more than a little tender after today’s adventures.
A couple of minutes crawled by, and before I could work up the energy to go see what Vail and Rowen were doing, there was a knock at my door.
