Dr. O’Halloran was professional. The surprise he’d shown when he’d first glanced at his tablet was gone. He gloved up, then touched Fallon’s cock, moving it back and forth and feeling around the ring. He made little noises, which I assumed was him in thought, and when he was done, he laid the jacket back over Fallon’s lap.
He slipped off the gloves as he stepped back, then grabbed his tablet.
Vail shifted nervously at my side and leaned against me. I wrapped my arm around his shoulders and kissed his cheek to keep him calm, and I wished I could do the same for Fallon. Were we at that point yet? No, I didn’t think so. I was still comprehendingwhatthis was between us. I’d been ready to explore the sexual part ofjust uswhen the cock ring got stuck. I’d been stupid and impulsive and let my desire win, and this was what had happened.
“Okay, I have good and bad news.” Dr. O’Halloran finally looked up from his screen at Fallon. “So, while the ring is tight and doing its job, it isn’t at the point that it’s dangerous and cutting off your circulation completely. Your penis is not going to fall off. Technically we call this penile strangulation.”
How he managed to say that last bit with a straight face, only God knew.
Fallon winced and visibly swallowed. “That’s something. What’s the bad news?”
Vail’s fingers curled on Fallon’s thigh, and Vail sucked in a breath.
“It’s titanium. Unfortunately that’s not the kind of ring we suggest when buying toys because if it does become stuck, we don’t have the equipment to break it open.” He spoke slowly and confidently, and it was obvious he knew exactly what he was talking about. I felt bad for thinking he was too young. Clearly he’d had enough training.
“Oh, fuck.” Fallon threw his body back against the bed. “I’m going to lose my dick, aren’t I?” He shot back up again. “Doc, save my dick. I like my dick. I use it all the time. It’s fun, but also useful. I piss through it. I piss a lot. I’m also diabetic, so I need to piss.”
“Fallon,” I whispered, and his attention snapped to me. I smiled gently. “Breathe. Ye’re fine. God’s got a plan for ye, and ye’ll be safe.”
“This happens a lot, right?” Vail looked at me, then Dr. O’Halloran. “You’ll get this off. I knew this guy and he—”
I shushed Vail by laying a hand over his mouth. “Angel, we need to let the doctor speak. He’s the expert, aye?”
Vail narrowed his eyes, his frustration clear in the way his mouth twisted as he pursed his lips. I had a feeling I’d stepped on something I shouldn’t’ve by silencing him, but I would deal with it later. He stayed quiet when I took my hand away.
Dr. O’Halloran gave us all a tight smile. “Fallon, we are going to help you, but to do that we need to call in the fire department.”
Fallon’s eyes went wide. “Why?”
“As I said, we don’t have the equipment to cut the titanium ring. The city might, but not us out here in the Hamptons. The fire department has a diamond saw that they can use.” Dr. O’Halloran squinted at Fallon in sympathy. “It might take a bit. I’m sorry. We have no other choice, and if we don’t remove it as soon as possible, your health is at risk.”
Fallon groaned and threw his head back, hitting it against the pillow. He slapped his palm on his forehead. “This is just my luck.”
“We’ll do it,” I said immediately. “Call the fire department. We’ve no other choice, besides.”
The doc nodded, but he stared at Fallon, waiting for his permission.
Finally giving up my internal argument, I rested my hand near Vail’s on Fallon’s thigh. Fallon stared at me.
“Wee rabbit, we need to do this. We care about ye, and we want ye to come home healthy, aye?”
Fallon’s eyes watered, and my heart ached for him. I wished I could take away his embarrassment, but all I could do was stay at his side and offer him comfort. Finally, he sighed. “Okay.”
As soon as the doc got what he needed, he left us alone, making sure to pull the curtain tightly closed behind himself on his way out the door.
“You don’t need to worry about my dick falling off,” Fallon grumbled, dropping his head forward. “I’m going to die from being the most awkward person in the universe.Hi, nice to meet you. Did you see my stuck dick yet, doc?Oh my God.”
“Don’t talk like that,” Vail said immediately, lips puffing out in a small pout. His eyes were damp and he jumped up from his seat, extracting himself from my arm, to settle onto the bed beside Fallon. Vail cuddled up against Fallon’s side and kissed his cheek. “It’s going to be okay. This will be over soon, and then we’ll go back home and watch movies, and I’ll give you the best blowjob you’ve ever had.”
“Yeah?” Fallon perked up a little. “Will you tongue my ass, too?”
Vail chuckled. “Anything you want. Everything you want.”
“Fuck yeah.” Fallon gave him a ghost of a smile.
I let out a relieved breath.
It took the fire department twenty minutes before they got to the hospital, and when they walked in, I was getting a drink from a fountain in the hallway. It was as though everyone’s attention went straight to them, and the only thing that mattered was watching the hunky men in fire protection trousers and boots head toward the nurses’ desk. They spoke to the elderly nurse behind the desk, and she nodded, pointing toward Fallon’s room. They spoke a bit more, and Dr. O’Halloran appeared, striding over to the desk from another patient’s room.
