“Father Shay’s been at that church since he left seminary school. He’s been me rock and it’s true. I’m worried.”
Vail wrapped his arms around Rowen’s neck, dragging him down to the couch, half on top of himself. “It’s okay to be concerned, but let Sloan handle it. You have enough to deal with.”
“Don’t remind me.” Rowen winced and glanced at me over Vail’s shoulder. “Ye ready to go?”
“I am. Thought we were getting there earlier because there’d be less people, but I haven’t seen Cillian or Fallon yet.”
As if saying their names conjured them, they walked into the living room from the hallway, dressed and ready to go.
“Don’t get yer knickers in a knot. We’re here.” Cillian’s smirk told us exactly what they’d been doing, but who wouldn’t? As soon as I’d gotten home from Miami, I couldn’t resist taking Fallon into my room and fucking him senseless, drowning in his touches and moans and his sweet body. He needed me in his own special way, and being gone had made me realize how much I loved him. It was easier to forget everything that had happened while he stared at me like he could never get enough of what I had to give. I suspected Cillian had done the same with Vail.
I took a moment to appreciate them.
Cillian was dressed in a pair of jeans similar to mine and a long-sleeved black dress shirt, which he’d rolled up the sleeves on and left unbuttoned, revealing a white undershirt. He’d finished the outfit off with a pair of black sneakers that I didn’t know he owned. He’d brushed his hair back, giving him a cool, collected vibe that I knew women and men loved. I would be lying if I didn’t admit my mouth watered at the sight of him.
Fallon, on the other hand, went for stylish with a tight blue dress shirt, which he’d also rolled the sleeves on, and light gray suit pants that clung to him like glue. His shoes were shiny and black, and he’d left his hair loose around his shoulders.
“What do you think?” Fallon opened his arms wide and spun, and I couldn’t help but rise from the couch and walk over to him to smooth my palm down his chest. I stopped at the waistband of his pants. He watched, eyes hooded and mouth already swollen from the kisses Cillian had obviously given him earlier.
“I want to take you upstairs and fuck you until you can’t remember your name.”
Fallon shuddered, tilting his chin up. “Or you could do it here, so everyone can watch.”
Cillian groaned and adjusted himself. “I like the sound of that.”
“I hate to break up the moment, but ye won’t be doin’ any of that.” Rowen shook his head. “Fallon’s not coming with us.”
Yep, that was the moment appropriately ruined. I turned to look at Rowen while Fallon’s mouth dropped open.
“What do you mean? Conall’s at home, safe, and I’m not needed there! Why can’t I come?” He scowled.
“I got the same question,” Cillian grunted out gruffly, gaze narrowing on Rowen. He crossed his arms and his foul mood was back. Fucking it out of his system with Fallon hadn’t worked as well as I’d hoped. Although, I understood his irritation. I’d been excited to go out to Club Bellissimo with all my boys, minus the beautiful Vail, who was off to Sloan’s where he would be safe. He hadn’t been too happy to miss the club, but we couldn’t bring him along while we were working.
Rowen stood, leaving Vail alone on the couch, and raised his palms to us. “Don’t go shooting the messenger. Sloan’s got an assignment for Fallon. He told me to tell Fallon to get his arse over there instead of going with us.”
Fallon’s shoulders drooped and he pouted. “Fuck. That’s not fair.”
Cillian pinched the bridge of his nose, sighing. “There’s nothing we can do about it. Sloan’s the boss.”
A knock on the door interrupted Fallon as he opened his mouth to say something, and we all paused. We weren’t expecting any guests, and no one visited us unless we’d arranged something. I left them there to walk out of the living room. Once I was in the hallway, I swung open the front door.
I blinked in surprise at Conall, who grinned as soon as I answered.
“Hey, Aspen.”
Behind Conall were ten soldiers, all dressed in their usual suits and in a protective stance. Five had their backs to us, watching the street for any external threats, while the other five surrounded Conall in a semicircle, guarding him with their bodies.
“Sir....” If I sounded surprised, I couldn’t be blamed. It was highly unusual to see Conall here, especiallywithoutthe boss. “Is something wrong?”
“Can I come in?” Conall didn’t wait for an answer. He pushed his way past me and walked toward the living room, but the soldiers didn’t follow, so I closed the door and went in the same direction. When I got into the room, Conall was getting a hug from an excited Vail while Cillian sent me a frown. I shrugged in answer to his unasked question. Fucked if I knew why he was here.
Conall was dressed similarly to us, in a pair of gray pants a little darker than Fallon’s and a white sweater, sleeves pushed to his elbows, and white shoes. He looked trendy, with his hair up in a bun and the red collar stark and vibrant around his neck.
Vail finally let Conall go and bounced on his toes. “Are you riding with me back to the mansion?”
Conall laughed. “No, I’m here to help your men.”
I blinked, surprised, while Cillian scoffed.
