“What do you want?” he whispered, his breath a flutter of air against my mouth.

“Everything. Eventually marriage, and maybe kids. Animals. A house—the works.” I’d wanted the same with Chris, but he’d always put me off. “I thought I was going to get it all, and then he left me, and now I’m back at square one.”

“You’re not.” He touched his nose with mine. “I might be young, but I know what I want, Rookie. I’m not saying I’ll be ready tomorrow or next week, but give us a year and let me get settled, and then I promise I’ll be on one knee proposing. Fuck this idea of taking it slow. I’m in and I want it, too.”

“I haven’t even metyourfriends. Won’t you be embarrassed by me?”

He snorted. “I’m more worried they’ll be jealous they can’t get a sexy man like you for themselves.”

I laughed. “You’re being ridiculous.”

“I’m being serious.” He ran his hand down my neck, over my shoulder, and to my bicep, squeezing it. “These muscles are mine, Rookie.Mine. I want to come all over them.”

“Yeah?” I shuddered, and even though it was uncomfortable to be leaning over his center console to be closer to him, my dick was already plump. “I want you to put your spunk all over them, claim them as yours.”

“Don’t tempt me.” He growled, yanking me into another kiss, this one deeper and more passionate. His tongue massaged mine and he groaned into my mouth. “So, you want to meet my friends?”

“Really?”

He smirked. “Oh yeah. They’ll be on the basketball court right now. I want them to see what I have and they don’t.”

I rolled my eyes, chuckling. “I can play a decent game of basketball.”

His brows hiked toward his hairline. “Shall we make this a bet?”

I cocked my head. “What do you mean?”

“You on one team, me on the other. If you win, we can do whatever you want tomorrow night at Triple X—if I win, we do what I want.”

My dick throbbed at the thought. “You’re on.”

He grinned wickedly. “Oh, Rookie, you’re going to regret that.”

I laughed and settled into the seat as he started the car again. With the new office closer to Vert Island, it didn’t take us long to get to the toll bridge that connected the island to the rest of New Gothenburg, and when we arrived it was getting close to sunset. Judge drove past his parents’ house and continued to a park nearby. I’d never been to this island prior to our relationship—very few people who didn’t live here ever visited—let alone any parks around here. This area was for the rich, and that was certainly something I wasn’t. The houses were spectacular, bigger than anything I’d seen, even on television, and the people I did see looked like supermodels or dressed the part of rich with expensive clothing that shouted couture.

With the two of us in Judge’s car I felt comfortable, but the sights around Vert Island were a reminder we weren’t from the same world. He’d spent almost as much money on dinner the other night as I did on my mortgage. I swallowed hard as we passed a sign—Vert Island Clubhouse Ahead.

“You okay, Rookie?” he murmured, sliding his hand over mine and linking our fingers again.

My gut clenched as I glanced at him. “Vert Island is another planet.”

He chuckled as he pulled the car into a parking area beside a tall building with white shingle siding that reminded me of a trip I’d taken once to the Hamptons for a conference. I assumed this was the clubhouse. There were at least a dozen men around Judge’s age waiting outside, and one of them appeared to be vaping, which I hated. Jury leaned against a decorative white stone wall, and everyone was dressed to be on a basketball court.

“I wouldn’t mind getting off this island,” Judge said, pulling my attention back to him as he shifted the gears to Park.

“What do you mean?” I held my breath, half hoping he was talking about what I thought he was, and half hoping he wasn’t. Moving too quickly was my forte, it’s what I did, and I wanted to change that behavior. Yet with Judge, I was tripping over my own feet to rush in with anything he wanted.

“I mean—” He unbuckled his belt and turned in the seat, curling his arm around my shoulders. “—you need to get out of that house, and I need to learn to stand on my own two feet without my parents. I’m pushing by bringing up moving in together again, and I know it, but I wanted to make it clear that I would like to do this with you.”

“Isn’t it a little quick?” I murmured. My heart raced and I was sure it was going to bruise my ribs. I shouldn’t be surprised—Judge liked destroying boundaries, loved getting what he wanted, and I’d always given in to him. “You’re young—”

“Don’t say that.” He grabbed my chin in his fingers and stared deeply into my eyes. The green of his irises glimmered fiercely and it was hard not to whimper at the dominant look he was giving me. “Rookie, I’m in charge here, not you. I may be young, but I’m your Dom. Am I clear?”

I swallowed around the excitement that surged up through my chest and into my throat, and I nodded. “Yes, Sir.”

“Good.” He smiled and slammed his mouth on mine, and I melted against him, my body going warm and my cock plumping. “Remember that you belong to me, no matter what. I will never hurt you, and you’ve got the safeword if you’re ever uncomfortable.”

“I know,” I whispered, reaching down to rub myself through my pants, which earned me a smirk from him. “I’m fine.”
