“You don’t.” I raised his hand to my mouth and pressed a kiss to his knuckles. “Let me tell you something about Dec, babe. He’s unashamed of who he is. When I first met him, I was so sure he’d be another closeted player, so I refused to go out with him.”
“You told me,” he said quietly, that small but charming smile playing on his succulent mouth.
“But I don’t think you understand. I thought the same way you do. I wasn’t going to be involved in a relationship that I had to hide. But I took a chance, and I went to a game and… I’ve never regretted it.” Warmth spread through me as I thought about that moment when I realized how open Dec really was. He wasn’t like those guys from high school. “Dec is the purest person I’ve ever met. He would defend the people he loves to his deathbed. He doesn’t care what other people think about him because he focuses on his own life.” I pressed a kiss to Logan’s neck, and he shivered. “When the media picked up on our relationship, they tried to skewer him without being homophobic bastards, even though they obviously were. Dec destroyed them. He basically told them to go fuck themselves, and he played harder and became a sought-after athlete that had them forgetting about him being gay.”
“I haven’t known him long, but I can tell he’s an amazing man.” Logan tilted his head, and I kissed him gently. “And so are you. You both make me feel equally safe and hard at the same time.”
Laughter burst from me. “Hard and safe? Damn, we’re gods.”
Logan blushed and buried his face against my shoulder. “You are to me.”
“Well, don’t worry, okay? We have no intention of hiding you from the world, but we want you to feel ready for this. We’re not going to tell our family untilyouwant us to, and you have to be sure when we do. By telling our family about our relationship, we’re telling them we’re forever. Dec and I don’t play around, Logan. We’re passionate about our love for each other, and we want you. Badly.”
“I want you, too.” He lifted his head and stared at me with those big green eyes. “I don’t know if I could ever introduce you to my family. They don’t even know I’m bi. My whole life has been about my brother and his football. I don’t think they’d react too good to me being bi. I can’t even imagine what they’d say about me being in a poly relationship with two men.”
Stroking my fingers down his jaw, I smiled. “We’ll do whatever you want. You’re ours now, honey.”
He sighed dreamily and nodded.
“Come on. Let’s see if we can sneak into the Blizzard’s locker room. Dec will need an ice bath before he can leave, so he’ll take a while.”
He followed me through the nearly empty seats as we headed into the outer area of the rink, which had shops full of merchandise. Some Columbus fans were still there, buying jerseys and hats and other items with their team’s logo on it. We bypassed them. I hadn’t been to this rink before, so I didn’t know where to go. I stopped to ask one of the security guards, who gave me a look of disbelief.
“I’m the husband of one of the Blizzard players.”
He snorted but told me where to go. We didn’t get far before we were stopped again and one of the guards went to check if I was allowed in. I half expected Coach to tell them no, but when he came back, he allowed us to enter.
We walked into the locker room, and Coach was the first one to greet us. “You know you’re not allowed here after a game, Jake.”
I chuckled and gave him a hug. “You know me, Coach, I like breaking rules.”
He grunted but grinned. Clearly he was in a good mood after the win.
“Have you thought about that tattoo we were talking about?” I teased.
“No,” he answered bluntly before his light blue gaze slid to Logan. “So this is the third to your relationship I’ve been hearing about.”
“Logan,” I said, gesturing to him. “He’s our partner.”
Coach held out his hand, and Logan shook it, his cheeks flaming red. “Nice to meet you, Logan. Here are my rules. You can have my player as much as you want at home, but when he’s playing I want his attention completely on the game and winning. So no distractions. Hockey comes first.”
Logan’s eyes widened and he nodded quickly. “Yes, sir.”
Laughing, I shook my head at Coach. “Stop scaring him.” I nudged Logan. “I wish I could say he’s joking, but he’s not. However, Coach is like a cuddly bear. He’s a hugger.”
“I’m more of a grizzly,” Coach grumbled, just as Dec came out of the steam room, a loose towel wrapped around his waist. Our gazes went straight to him.
Coach snorted. “And that’s my cue. Greenwood, ice and dress and take your men to dinner. The team has an early morning, so don’t stay up fucking all night.”
Dec’s wet hair was a darker blond than usual, and water dripped down his neck and chest, trailing over his delectable skin in a way that had me biting my lip and wishing I could lick it off his body. He grinned wickedly when he reached us. He knew exactly what I was thinking.
“Logan, sweetheart, you’ll catch flies.” He tapped Logan’s chin, and Logan snapped his mouth closed. He blushed and ducked his head with a chuckle.
“He’s only a man,” I whispered. I didn’t want the rest of the team to hear us. Some of them were near their lockers, while the sound of laughter told me the rest were in the showers. Very naked. I’d never been jealous of Dec being around other naked men because while he might look, he never did anything without me. I trusted him. “And so am I.” Running my palm over his chest, I stopped to tweak his nipple quickly. “You owe us a dinner, Mr. Greenwood.”
“I do.” He groaned low in his throat.
I slanted my lips over his and gave him a short but deep kiss that had him leaning toward me. “We missed you.”
