“Rehab?” River’s eyes widened. “They’re putting you in rehab?”

“They can’t put me anywhere,” King grumbled with a sip of his drink. “They asked me to go and I agreed. Problem is, they know I’d do anything for them, and they used that against me. So I’m enjoying a drink while I can have it.”

River made a sound of surprise. “Christ, the fed really does have you by the balls.”

“Fuck off.” King swung on his seat so he looked directly at River, but I didn’t miss the way he watched me carefully out of the corner of his eye. “What do you want to know?”

“Have you ever heard the name Pierre Burgess?”

King’s brows furrowed. “Yeah, he’s a lone wolf. Why?”

River hesitated and glanced at me. I took it as a signal to take over.

“Over the last few months, we had proof that there was a sex trafficking ring set up in New Gothenburg,” I started.

“Sex trafficking ring?” King’s face hardened and a tic began in his jaw.

River sighed. “They drugged me too, King. Handcuffed me to the bed. I had to go get fucking tested, and I’ll be going again once a month for the next six months. They didn’t plan on keeping me as a slave, but they took pictures of me, drugged, with a guy who barely looked legal, but thank fuck he was. You wouldn’t be able to tell that by the pics, though. The man who trapped me went by Xander, and he told me Brickton said hello.”

The more River spoke, the harder King clenched his jaw. “Brickton? That fucking lawyer West used to work for?”

River nodded. “We can’t go after him, not yet. He’d clam up tighter than a nun. So I need to find Xander, get him to talk. Work my way up the scuzzbucket ladder.”

“Fuck. And you think Burgess can help?” King swallowed the rest of his drink and slammed the glass on the bar top before his attention returned to us. “Burgess is an all right guy. He’s never done anything that made us suspicious. He has a daughter of his own, about fourteen or something.” He frowned in thought. “He’s done some small-time jobs for us for some cash, and I know he’s done the same for Sapphira’s girls, and the Demons too. Not sure about the Warriors.FuckingWarriors,” he grumbled.

“Do you think he could be involved in a trafficking ring?” I asked.

King grabbed his glass and shook it in the bartender’s direction—a man with vibrant hair and suspicious eyes, mostly focused on King. The young man sighed and took the glass to go refill it. “I’d like to say no, but you never know with people these days. There used to be pride that came with being a biker, but all you need to do is look at the Warriors to see how that’s gone down the shitter.”

“Do you have a way of contacting him?” River leaned forward, a gentle expression on his face. Hell, I didn’t know River could make that face, and the jealousy over him giving it to King made my blood burn hot. I closed my hand into a fist on the bar and inhaled deeply. King glanced at me, mouth curling into a smirk like he knew what I was thinking.Arsehole.

“Yeah, I do. His number’s in my office. Give me a sec.” He stood and stretched, his black shirt riding up his stomach.

I could see why so many people thought he was good-looking. Not only did he have the bad-boy vibe, but he was a handsome bloke with a nicely shaped face and high brows. He had thatI’d kill anyone who touched youappearance, and a sense of danger that came with him. His walk to his office was more of a swagger.

“Are you sure he’ll give us what we need, Lamb?” I whispered to River, leaning in close to his ear. I didn’t miss the shiver that ran through his body.

“Why are you calling me that? We’re not acting right now.” He turned his head to look back at me, but his eyes were dark with a lust that had my balls filling. Fuck, what I would do to get his lips on my cock again. He’d worked me like he knew what he was doing, and the fact that he’d been restrained while he was doing it? The thought made me hot inside. I wanted to use my handcuffs on him, fuck him until he called my name.

“Because you’re my lamb,” I said quietly, reaching up to caress the side of his face. He leaned into my touch, eyelashes fluttering.

“Fuck me. Jayce?”

Shit.I yanked away from River and turned around. All my worst nightmares came crashing down on me at the sight of my younger brother, who looked a lot bigger and wider than I remembered him as a teenager. He had the same face, but in an older, wiser appearance.

I forced myself to smile. “Hey, Hayden.”

Another man stood behind him, but while Hayden had width and masculinity, this other male was… ethereal. It was the only way to describe him. He had the prettiest face I’d ever seen, soft and smooth and young. Long, blond hair cascaded around the stranger’s shoulders, and he had a grip on Hayden’s arm that told me they weren’t just friends.

I stepped forward, ignoring Hayden’s wide eyes, and held out my hand to the man beside him. “Hi. I’m Jayce, Hayden’s brother.”

The stranger giggled and took my hand in his. His skin was soft to touch, and I’d bet my arse he put a lot of moisturizer or something on it. “Hello, hon’. I’m Destiny, this brute’s boyfriend.”

“That’s all you’ve got to say for yourself?” Hayden growled, pushing Destiny behind him like I was going to hurt him. “I haven’t seen you since you left me to join the fucking army, and all you have to say is hello to Destiny?”

I sighed and took a step back. It was hard to believe my little brother was taller than me, but here he was, towering over me by a few inches. “I joined the marines actually.”

“Does it fucking bloody well matter? This isn’t a fluke that you’re here. Did you find me or something?” Hayden’s gaze turned to lead, and I knew I had to fix this or it’d turn ugly fast. Even as teenagers, Hayden and I had gotten into some nasty barneys.
