“Is that how you talk to your Sir, Lamb?” I asked in a low tone. Pleasure warmed my gut as I thought about what I wanted to do to him tonight.
“I….” River let out a deep breath. “Are you still my Sir?”
“What?” I pulled up at a red light and frowned at the glowing crimson. “What kind of question is that?”
“We don’t have to pretend anymore. We’ve captured them. The case is, as they say, closed.” He sounded pissed off, the shortness of his sentences sending warning bells through my mind.
“And? You should know that I didn’t play with you because of that, Lamb. I mean, I said it was us pretending, but we never pretended anything, did we?” The light turned green, and I floored it, taking one of the corners a little too sharply and nearly hitting a teen on a skateboard. He gave me the finger, and if I wasn’t in a rush to get home I’d have pulled out my badge and warned him to be careful because he was skating in the street. “Listen, we’ll talk about this later. Where are you?”
“I’m at the office,” he said quietly.
“Then get your arse to your apartment and get dressed in your leather. We’re going to Triple X. The only butt I want is yours, bared to me, am I clear?”
River let out a noise that sounded a bit like a gasp, and then he said, “Yes, Sir.” The line went dead and I grinned, tapping the red phone button to disconnect the call. I sped home, hoping one of my fellow cops didn’t pull me up for driving over the limit. Once I arrived at my house I had a quick shower and put on the new black leather pants I’d bought on a whim when River was mad at me. At least one of the times he’d been mad at me.
They were the perfect fit. Not too tight, but firm enough to show off all my assets, including my thighs, and a heavy bulge the material cupped. The black shirt I put on was simple, but I added a leather harness that stretched over my shoulders and top of my chest, and across my upper back. It took a few moments to fit it because this was the first time I’d used it, but it was similar to River’s red leather shoulder harness.
When I had it buckled up, I grinned at myself in the mirror, excitement and need stirring low in my gut. Maybe I’d need to get myself a Triple X membership too. River would vouch for me, I hoped.
Taking a deep breath, I rolled my shoulders to feel the tightness of the harness before I grabbed my keys again and headed out the front door, locking it behind me. I took my time getting to River’s apartment building, hoping to get him riled up and antsy. I didn’t need to text him when I pulled to the curb because he was already waiting at the front doors, his arms crossed, his frown almost daring people who walked past the building to come near him.
He wore a pair of tight red leather pants—similar to mine, but they stuck to his legs in a way mine didn’t—as well as a sleeveless black leather top lined with red seams. He shivered in the cold while he stood there. His hair was brushed back, his gold frames glinting under the glow of the lamp near his head. His attractiveness left me breathless.
He saw me and squared his shoulders, striding to the truck, opening it and jumping in. When he had the door closed again I held out my hand, and he immediately understood, dragging the seat belt across his body and passing me the buckle.
“Thank you, Lamb,” I murmured with delight, clipping the buckle into the latch before kissing him gently on the cheek.
He stiffened and then released the tension in his body, glancing at me. “You’re welcome, Sir.”
I leaned back into my own seat and veered the truck back onto the street, heading southeast and toward Club Triple X. We stayed silent for a while before River let out a sigh and I smiled, knowing what was coming before he opened his mouth.
“What did you mean earlier, Sir? I thought once we caught them this would be over.”
“Why would you think that?” I asked quietly, the lights on the street dancing across our faces every time we passed one.
“Because—”
“Because you’re used to men letting you down.Domsletting you down,” I answered for him. He pursed his lips at me. “I’m not like the other men, Lamb. For one, you’re my first submissive. You made me want to try this.”
“I get the thrill of what we’re doing, but you can find any sub to do it with. There are more subs without Doms than the other way around.” River leaned back in his seat and I glanced at him, at the way his leather top stretched across his hard chest and stomach, and my mouth watered. I wanted to get him out of that shirt and suck on his nipples, eat my way down his belly to the real objective—his cock. All the while his hands would be tied together and he wouldn’t be able to touch me while I teased every inch of his skin.
“I can, but I don’t want any other sub. I want you.”
River inhaled and glanced out the window, and for a moment I thought I’d lost him to his thoughts, that maybe he’d tell me this was a mistake and ask me to take him home. But he didn’t. “I don’t want to be an experiment, Sir.”
“You’re not. I promise, Lamb. I want you.”
He looked at me then and his eyes glimmered under the glow of a stoplight. “I want you too, Sir.”
“Then let’s not talk about it again. You have a safeword if you want this to stop.”
“I don’t,” he said quickly—breathlessly.
“Good, because neither do I.” I reached over to cup his cheek and drag him into a kiss. He tasted like cognac, as though he’d cracked open a drink before I arrived. Probably to steady his nerves. “Did you drink alcohol, Lamb?”
“A little.”
“I don’t want you to do that again before we’re about to play. Do you understand me? I want you to be in your right mind at all times.” I stroked his cheek, and his eyes slipped closed and he leaned into my touch.
