“Fuck,” I breathed.
Linn’ar’s feelers drifted in the air. “You put on such a wonderful display. I am pleased,” he said cheerfully. “Although, I thought you would make more pollen.”
My laugh came out as a wheeze. “Humans can’t ejaculate as much as Maeleons. Sorry. Not physically possible.”
Linn’ar hummed thoughtfully. “Didn’t Levi think it was physically impossible for him to get pregnant? And yet, he did.”
I raised a brow at his insinuation. “Are you threatening to make me come ten times harder?” I teased.
“Just something to think about.”
I laughed it off, then rolled over into the cool grass. My sweat-soaked skin was uncomfortable now that I finished, but I didn’t want to leave Linn’ar behind after all he did for me.
“What about you?” I asked, wiping the sweat off my forehead while nodding at his groin.
Linn’ar noted my perspiration. “I am fine for now. But you look hot.”
“I could do with a bath,” I said.
“Wonderful. Then I will take you to one.”
I glanced at the pile of items. “Before that, could we stop by my den and drop these off? I think my research tools have had enough adventures for today.”
“Certainly.” He nodded at my hard suit. “What about your coverings?”
I thought about it for a moment, then shrugged. Maeleons didn’t care about nudity. My aversion to it was a remnant of myupbringing. Logically, there was no reason to clothe myself right now.
“If I’m going back in the water, I may as well stay nude,” I said.
Earth Jaeyoung would’ve never considered walking around naked. But Eukaria Jaeyoung...
Well, he was shaping up to be a very different person.
8 /Linn’ar
We returnedto the village to unload Jaeyoung’s objects. He carried his coverings in his arms while I held everything else. I was careful with the delicate instruments since he cared about them deeply. I knew how important his research was to him.
“Come in,” Jaeyoung said at the door to his den.
I followed him inside. I’d been here recently, but after our couplings, I was already viewing it in a new light. There was enough room for another living being—perhaps an entire family unit.
Jaeyoung organized the items on his desk.
As I watched him closely, an instinctive reaction took hold of me. The hidden membrane of my eyes blinked forward, creating a filter over my vision. That was when I saw it—flecks of green-gold particles seeping up from the soil beneath Jaeyoung’s feet and wove through his body. He glowed with them, a soft beacon of light in the darkness.
But the glowing particles weren’t inside him alone. A glimmering line of flecks connected us, spanning from Jaeyoung’s feet to mine, like a secret trail.
I held my breath. My blood hummed.
I understood now. Zat’tor was correct. Jaeyoungwasmy filum. That meant we could breed. The idea filled me with joy. But was he interested in raising a child together? He never openly expressed any desire for it. However, if there was one thing I learned about Jaeyoung, it was that he needed practice asking for his wants and needs to be met...
“All right, I’m all finished here,” Jaeyoung said. He glanced at me, then paused. “Wait. Don’t move.”
I kept still as he ran up to me. His face lit up with fascination while he stared into my eyes.
“What is it?” I asked.
“Linn’ar, do you have a nictitating membrane?” He carefully pointed at my eyes. “This translucent layer here.”
