I smiled at him. "Well, duh. I thought that was obvious by now."

I debated bringing up the fact that Miguel was possibly pregnant too, but decided against it. Aunt Susan might've exploded on the spot.

Miguel smirked, his confidence boosted by Aunt Susan finally being knocked down a peg. "Oh, and by the way..." Miguel leaned his head on me in a gesture that was both fond and possessive, which I loved. "He's a doctor."

This exchange fried Aunt Susan's brain. She grasped for Uncle Tommy's arm, mumbling incoherently about how she couldn't believe it. She hauled him off.

Miguel let out another sigh of relief, this one deeper than the last. "Phew. That was a tough one."

"How many more?" I asked daringly.

"A lot."

I wasn't intimidated. In fact, I was having fun. I snaked my hand around Miguel's waist and inched closer to his ass. We vowed not to fuck in the broom closet again, but that didn't mean I couldn't subtly cop a feel.

I leaned close to Miguel's ear. "Bring on the rest of your overbearing relatives. I'm more than happy to show off the fact that we're fated mates..."

The wedding ceremony was beautiful. To see two humans truly in love was something I'd never grow tired of.

And of course, watching it with my fated mate by my side meant the world to me.

Once everything settled down and the crowd was free to mingle, the two of us nabbed a table where we could stuff our faces with delicious wedding cake. Miguel had frosting smeared on his lips. I'd just finished thumbing it off and licking it clean when the brides sat down next to us. They both radiated the pure happiness of a newlywed couple. It was nice just to be in their presence.

"Miguel, Daemen, I'm so glad you guys made it," Maria said.

"What do you mean? I'd never miss your wedding!" Miguel replied.

"I know, but... I know how our family is, and I know how you feel about them pestering you all the time. Theyareover-the-top. So in the back of my mind, I was worried you wouldn't want to come, or if you did, you wouldn't have fun."

Miguel laughed as he put another piece of wedding cake in his mouth. "Trust me, I'm having a blast."

Maria gave me a warm smile. "I should thank Daemen, too. He's the reason you came, right?"

Barely masking a conspiratorial tone, Sally said, "I think that's why he came, too."

Miguel choked on his cake while I hid a maniacal grin behind my palm.

Maria didn't notice. Thankfully, she was still in the dark about the broom closet scenario.

"If I'm being honest... yeah, he is," Miguel said. The way he glanced at me with stars in his eyes warmed my heart.

"That's okay! I'm just glad you're happy." Maria hugged her brother. "And who knows? Maybe we'll be atyourwedding someday soon."

Hope flashed across Miguel's face, making my soul sing. My mate was already handsome, but when he smiled, he was drop-dead gorgeous. I knew I would do anything for him. Even though I was the demon and him the simple human, Miguel held total power over me. Anything he wanted, I would give.

So if he wanted a wedding, I'd better get planning.

Miguel

A Year and a Half Later...

My familyalways expected us to do things in a certain order. Graduate, get a job, find a partner, get married, have babies.

Oh, and do all of that before you turn thirty.
