"Yeah."

"Want to do it again?"

He wheezed a laugh. "I don't think I have anything else left in me. That was, uh, pretty intense for... method acting. By the way, do you have a napkin? I should probably clean this up before that guy finds out."

I handed him one from my back pocket. "Pity. It would've been funny."

After Miguel got rid of the evidence of our misdemeanor, he eyed the suit. "Should I still try this on?"

"Of course. Here, let me help."

Since Miguel needed my assistance, I ignored my throbbing boner. Patience built character. I'd deal with it later.

After we strangled the suit on together, I took a step back and looked at him.

"So handsome," I murmured.

Miguel's face lit up. "Really?"

"Turn around and take a look."

When he did, he gasped softly. He smoothed his hands over the suit, taking it all in with a hopeful expression. "Oh,wow. I look like a totally different person! And you were right, Daemen, it fits perfectly!"

I grinned. "What did I tell you?"

Miguel faced me, then hesitated. "I kinda wanna give you a hug right now. Not as a fake boyfriend, but just asme.Is that weird?"

My heart fluttered. How was he so cute?

"Go ahead," I said.

He wrapped his arms around me in a warm embrace. I took the opportunity to pat his hair and inhale his scent.

A knock at the door interrupted us. Miguel yelped, nearly jumping in the air. "Yes?" he called out.

"Are you quite done in there, sir?"

I recognized the voice as the irritating employee.

I scowled and replied, "We will be soon. Thank you for your help."

A strangled sound of confusion came from the other side of the door. The employee probably hadn't realized we were both in here. When I heard him quickly shuffle away, Miguel and I both snickered.

We vacated the change room, dusted ourselves off, and made our way back to the show room. Uplifted from our little changing room tryst, Miguel sauntered up the counter where the employee from earlier gritted his teeth and forced a smile.

"May I help you?" the employee asked.

Miguel showed him the suit. "Yeah, I'm gonna buy this."

"Excellent. That particular suit is two thousand dollars. Will you be paying by credit or check?"

Miguel choked. "Twothousanddollars?"

A smarmy look wormed its way onto the employee's punchable face. "If that's too much for you, there's a Walmart down the street."

At this point I was convinced this man was doing everything in his power to piss me off. If we were alone I would've let my wings, horns and tail sprout to let this dickhead know exactly what he was dealing with.

I pulled out my wallet.
