I gazed out, soaking in the view of the kingdom. The full moon cast a beautiful silver light over the land. Everything seemed so small from up here.

“I know you’re trying to change things,” I said softly, “but I am glad Silver is an omega so he won’t have to go through what I did.”

I didn’t regret a single part of my past, but the thought of my infant son going through the same was unacceptable to me. I’d fight tooth and nail to protect him, always.

Sebastian nodded. “I feel the same way.” He drew closer to me, resting his cheek on my arm with a sigh. “Change is slow, but it will happen, Rourke. I’ll make sure of it. What my father did… it’s my responsibility to undo.”

“Don’t give your good old dad all the credit,” I said. “It’s been like this in Lacehaven for a long ass time.”

“I don’t want it to be.”

I grinned. “Who knew the asshole prince who bought my contract would turn into an activist king?”

“Oh, shut up,” Sebastian said, swatting my arm playfully.

I scanned the area. It was a still, quiet night. Nobody was around but us. The frisky feeling that stirred in my chest reminded me of our first night of intimacy as we shuffled secretly to the guest house.

“What?” Sebastian asked curiously.

I gazed down at him, trying to stifle the smirk tugging at my lips. Silver had fallen asleep against my chest. I didn’t mind either way. He was the only other person allowed to know.

“Kiss me, Arctos,” I said.

Sebastian sucked in a breath. His cheeks turned a delicious shade of pink, like a ripe peach. He stared up at me with wide, glittering eyes.

He leaned up and I leaned in, meeting him halfway to share a loving, hungry, passionate kiss.
