He shook his head sadly. “And when the kids did want to play with me, their parents would quickly remove them. Almost like they were afraid of me.”

I put my arm around him. “That’s because they’re a bunch of idiots. Offense intended.”

He chuckled and touched his hand to mine. “It’s fine. It’s not like I’ve never thought the same thing.” He plucked the plant and chewed on it absentmindedly. “This is all new to me, but it feels natural.”

“Good.”

He turned to me with warm brown eyes. “Not just babysitting, but being with you, too.”

Warmth flooded my chest. It was so sudden and intense that it took my breath away. I felt my cheeks turning hot. Morgan chuckled and ran a gentle knuckle over my face.

“That’s all it takes to fluster a wolf?” he teased.

I snatched his hand and gripped it. “Watch it, buck.”

“Or what? You’ll bite me?”

I leaned in and kissed his neck instead. Now his face matched mine in terms of pinkness.

“Tease,” Morgan murmured.

“Oh, I’m no tease. I’ll follow up on that kiss whenever the kids aren’t around,” I promised him in a sultry growl.

“I’ll hold you to it, then,” Morgan said, smirking. My hand was still touching his and he linked our fingers in a firm grip. The warmth of his hand was incredibly pleasant. Even just being close to him was nice.

It’s official. Morgan is turning me into a huge sap.
