Despite the pain and discomfort, I appreciated him caring. “No, that’s okay. Just meet me there. Soon, please.”
“We’ll be there ASAP. Hell, I’ll get there even faster than you,” he promised and I could practically hear him winking. “Love you, baby.”
“Love you.”
As soon as I hung up, a new pang of pain shot through my body, making me groan in agony.
“Uh oh,” Kaden said.
Finn, who was barely holding still in Jake’s arms from all the excitement and commotion, leaned over to see the back seat.
“Skywar made a spiwwy,” he said, pointing at the seat.
Kaden and I both glanced down. My water had broken.
All over Cash’s car seat.
I groaned. “I am so, so sorry, Cash.”
Cash just chuckled. “No problem. It’s not every day I can say an omega’s water broke in my car, can I?”
I was glad he was taking it well, because if I was in any less pain, I would have been mortified. But the new wave of agony made it hard to concentrate on any embarrassment I might have felt.
Kaden clutched my hand, and I squeezed it hard, wishing Rafael was here, too.
It was going to be a long day.

“Maybe I should have driven instead,” Griffin said loudly as I swerved through traffic.
With all the other drivers honking at me, I was beginning to think the same thing. My heart pounded, my palms were sweaty, and the hard clench of my chest was almost painful. But I had to get to the hospital as fast as possible. I wanted to be there to support Skylar. I didn't want to miss a single moment of his labor. Hell, what if he was one of those unicorns with super fast labors and he had the baby before I even got there? The horrifying idea made me hit the gas even harder.
Stupid Swedish furniture!
“Uh, Raf?” Griffin’s voice pulled me from the thoughts.
“What?”
“Don’t know if you notice those blue and red flashing lights behind you, but…”
“Shit,” I muttered. With an exasperated groan, I pulled over and frantically got out all my documentation.
When I rolled down the window for the cop, a stern-looking woman raised a brow at me. “Drinking?” she asked, sniffing the air.
“I’m really sorry, but my omega mate’s in labor, and I told him I’d meet him at the hospital, and Ihaveto be there for him!” I explained quickly.
I probably sounded ridiculous, and part of me wondered if she would even believe me or brush it off as me trying to get out of a ticket. But thankfully there must have been a note of true desperation in my tone because she sighed and said, “You can go. Just know that speeding won’t shave that much time off your trip.”
“I know. I’m sorry, it won’t happen again,” I said sheepishly.
The officer nodded and waved me off. Griffin and I both let out the breaths we’d been holding and I made sure to hit the gas pedal a little less hard this time.

Griffin stayed backto park the car and pay, and told me to go on ahead. I practically tripped over myself running into the lobby. I scanned everywhere for Skylar but didn’t see him.
