I was in labor with her right now.
Noro,I called out to him, breaking down the barrier Blaze had put between us,I need you right now! I’m going to give birth to our baby!
Noro hesitated. I saw something like recognition flash across his eyes, and he went still for a moment.
“Come on,” Tholan muttered beside me.
“Noro, c’mon, man!” Ramsay called. “You know us! We’re your friends!”
Blaze slammed down his talons. “No! Noro, they’re lying to you! You’remymagic Keeper, and you’ll do as I say!”
Noro lifted a leg to try and shake off the wolves, but it was less determined than before. He seemed slow and wary, but his eyes weren’t bright or alert. He was still under Blaze’s spell.
“Noro!” I called out loud, and something of the mask cracked again. “Please!”
A shudder of pain dropped me to my knees with a cry. Wetness gushed across my legs.
“Shit. His water broke,” Tholan growled. “I was hoping it wouldn’t happen here.”
“The baby’s coming,” Mom muttered, kneeling down beside me. “Hold on, Matheson.”
“Can’t you stop it somehow?” Dad asked frantically.
“No,” I cried. “I feel her coming now.”
As I let out a wail of pure agony, the shadow across Noro’s face disappeared. He shuddered violently and staggered back. Colton, Ramsay and Eric fell away from him and watched warily as some of his expression came back.
“I…” Noro said. “What’s going on?”
“Noro,” Blaze snapped. “Get the omega, now!”
My gryphon mate furrowed his brow in confusion, torn between his love for me and Blaze’s spell of hatred.
“You can’t, you stupid boy! He’s giving birth!” Tholan roared at his son, lashing his tail and clawing at the ground. “If you touch him, I’ll make you wish you were never born!”
Cries went up around the crowd, from both sides. They ushered closer, wanting to see for themselves if I was truly giving birth or not.
“Stay back,” Tholan snapped at them. “Give him some space!”
Mom helped me lay back. I was drenched in sweat and breathing heavily. Shockwaves of pain pulsed through my body, making me groan.
“Matheson!” Colton called as he ran over, nearly collapsing by my side in human form. He grabbed my hand and I squeezed it tightly. His ice-blue eyes were shadowed with deep concern. “Is he going to be okay? Is the baby?”
“He’ll be fine,” Mom said, but I heard the note of doubt in her voice. “We’re going to help him get through this.”
Since Noro had stopped moving, Eric and Ramsay left him to join me. The crowd gave way to let them through. I wonder if they realized that these were the three wolves who had impregnated me.
My three mates,I thought with a surge of affection. But one of them isn’t here.
Blaze had stumbled back, unsure of what to do now. He still looked furious, though, and he marched over to Noro. “This isn’t over,” he growled at me. “Noro is going to obeyme. Not you.”
“Shut the fuck up, asshole,” Ramsay and Eric snarled at him at the same time.
Pain made my muscles clench tightly. Colton shifted to his wolf form and laid his head comfortingly across my chest with a soft, sympathetic whine. I whimpered back and held his fur.
Noro seemed frozen in place, unable to make a decision.
Please,I begged through the weak mind link.Noro, our baby’s coming. I need you by my side!
