“Can - can I hold him?” Rafael asked quietly.

Griffin looked to me for approval, and I nodded.

“Here, Rafael,” I said. “You’re part of the reason Finn is here, after all.”

His eyes lit up with simultaneous joy and confusion. “Huh?”

“You were the one who convinced me to wait,” I explained. “That day we met at the pharmacy.”

Rafael nodded as he recalled. “Oh, yeah. Huh. I never thought of it that way before.” He grinned down at Finn. “Does that mean I count as this guy’s uncle?”

“Sure,” I said. “Now he’s got two.”

Skylar puffed up his chest. “I was hisfirstuncle.”

“Yeah?” Rafael countered. “Well, I’m the uncle who helped him be born in the first place! Isn’t that right, widdle Finn?”

“Ugh. Give me back my baby before you go full daddy mode and try to steal him or something,” I said.

“Maybe a baby of your own is in the cards?” Griffin teased him.

“Hell no!” Rafael cried, handing my son to me. “Do I look like I’m ready for a kid?”

“I dunno,” I said with a smirk. “You looked pretty comfortable holding Finn.”
