I sighed. “So you put on a cute outfit and literally serve alphas, is that it?”

Skylar nodded. “Yeah. Not serve in a sex way, though, obviously.”

“Still. Isn’t that, you know… Dehumanizing?”

“Why?” Skylar countered. “It’s just clothes and serving coffee, Jake. It’s the same as working a normal busboy job, except I get to be a little angel.”

I could tell he was disappointed in my reaction. But could I help it? Thinking about my friend parading around in a borderline-fetish outfit and waiting on alphas grossed me out. But at the same time, he needed a job, and it was his own body. He could do whatever he wanted with it.

“I guess,” I said.

He raised a brow. “Isn’t it dehumanizing to sleep around with random alphas and dump them afterwards?”

The image of Griffin on top of me flashed into my mind. I shook my head to clear it because I really didn’t needthatmental image during this particular conversation.

“Okay, angel boy, I get your point,” I grumbled. “You win.”

Skylar laughed and touched my arm. “You know I don’t care what you do in your spare time, right?”

“I know.” I smiled back at him. “But just to ease my mind, I’m gonna visit your café on your first day of work. When is it?

Skylar looked genuinely surprised. “Huh? Um, it’s Saturday. Why?”

“I want to see this Omega Angel Café for myself,” I said. “I want to make sure your employers really are nice, or if they just wanted to rope you in and trap you into alpha servitude forever.”

“Jake,” Skylar groaned.

“I won’t cause any problems, I swear,” I told him. “I’ll just come in and order like a normal customer.”

I flashed him my best good-behavior grin. He sighed.

“You are so suspicious. But fine.” Skylar smirked. “But if you’re gonna come into my workplace and snoop around, at least give me a good tip.”

“Oh, I will. So is five percent good?”

Skylar threw the pillow into my face.
