“Not really. He seemed kind of nervous, actually.” He shrugged. “I don’t know. My co-workers didn’t think he was a threat or anything, so we let it slide. He eventually left on his own.”

“Well, that’s good,” I said. “You tell me if he comes back and starts harassing you or anything. I’ll kick his ass.”

Skylar laughed. “Thanks, Jake.”

Then Griffin’s voice called almost hesitantly from the bathroom. “Jake? Can you help me out here?”

I rolled my eyes at Skylar, who chuckled again. “Alphas… Can’t even find bandages on their own without an omega’s help.”

I strode to the bathroom to come to Griffin’s aid, but when I found him standing there with a serious and confused expression on his face, my humor disappeared. My eyes went to his hand, which was still bleeding.

“Are you okay?” I asked. “Did you find the alcohol?”

“Yes,” Griffin said, unsure, “but I also found something else.”
