“No,” I said. “Omegas in costumes isn’t exactly my idea of a good time.”

“Well, it’s notjustthat,” Rafael countered. He thrust the phone in my face. “Look! It’s got a ton of five star reviews - and surprisingly, most of it is about the food and drinks.”

I politely moved his phone out of the way. “It might be employees leaving those reviews to get more business. You can’t trust reviews all the time.”

Rafael groaned. “You’re impossible.” He kept scrolling and said, “Hey, it’s a locally owned business! That’s pretty cool.”

The waitress was still nowhere to be seen with our food, even though the restaurant wasn’t even full. I grunted in reply to Rafael.

“Oh, wow. It’s an omega-run business, and they donate a portion of profits to a local omega charity, and they partner with a homeless shelter for omegas to get them back on their feet after leaving abusive situations,” Rafael said in surprise.

That was the only thing that had piqued my interest so far. “That’s nice of them.”

Encouraged by my reaction, Rafael grinned. “See? We should check it out. We’ll be supporting a good cause.”

“Raf, I don’twantto go,” I told him. “Why don’t you go by yourself?”

“No way. I don’t want to be a creepy lone alpha going into a place like that,” he said.

“I’m sure a lot of alphas go by themselves,” I said. “Isn’t that kind of the point? To be doted on by omegas, or something?”

Rafael frowned. “It would be less weird if we went together.”

I groaned. “If Igo, will you stop talking about it?”

Instantly Rafael perked up and said, “Yes.”

I half-heartedly glared at him. “Fine. We can go. But just once, and you can never bring it up to me again.”

“Yes!” he cried. “Can we go this weekend? Look, the Saturday special is a rose-flavored tea latte, and they draw little designs in the foam just for - “

At that moment the waitress arrived with our meals. She placed the steaming plates in front of us and walked away without saying anything, like she was in a hurry.

“See?” Rafael whispered. “We would probably get better service at the Omega Angel Café.”

I pointed my fork threateningly at him. “Shut up and eat your pasta before I eat it for you.”
