“She looks… like you,” Stark said with a grin.

“No, look, she’s got your eyes.” They looked down at the baby, whose eyes were not open. “Well, when she opened them they looked like yours.”

“I bet.”

Stark let out a deep breath he didn’t know he’d been holding for so long. “I’m so glad it went well. I was so worried that I think my brain couldn’t handle it. I ended up passing out in the waiting room.”

Kyle chuckled. “I think that was for the best. It was pretty uneventful once I got in there.”

Stark’s heart fluttered every time he looked down at his baby’s face. “I can’t believe her… She’s just perfect. And you were right. I guess your instincts really are strong.”

Kyle shrugged but he was blushing.

“Can we come in, too?” Scout finally piped up. He and Killian were idling around the doorway, waiting for an invitation.

“Of course,” Kyle said. The other couple shuffled closer. Scout’s face went as bright as the sun, and Killian’s broke out into a huge smile.

“Hi, little one,” Scout said. “Oh! Did you decide on a name?”

“No, not yet,” Stark admitted. He turned to Kyle. “Unless you have one in mind?”

“Um… I was just bouncing a few names around in my head, since I thought she would be a girl,” Kyle said. “But if you have suggestions, I’m definitely willing to listen, too.”

Stark shrugged. “Let’s hear yours.”

“Well, there was Matilda - we could call her Maddy for short - or um - “

“Stop,” Stark said. “I don’t want to hear the rest.”

Kyle blinked at him in confusion.

Stark smiled. “Maddy is perfect.”

Relief melted across everyone’s face. They gathered around her and cooed her name. She gurgled at all the noise, and eventually opened one eye halfway to reveal a bright blue.

“Oh, you’re right, Kyle,” Scout said. “She does have Stark’s eyes.”

Stark blushed.

Scout tugged on Killian’s arm. “Oh my god. I want another one. Please. This is giving me baby fever.”

“We’ll think about it,” Killian said with a smirk.

“I’m so excited!” Scout cried. “Maddy and Kendra can play when she’s a bit older - oh, and they can hang out at our place - we can have play dates!”

Kyle groaned playfully. “Please, no nothing until I get like, a month of sleep. At least.”

Killian chuckled. “Good luck getting at least onehourwith a newborn.”

“Don’t worry,” Stark said, putting his arm around Kyle’s shoulder. “That’s what I’m here for. You’ve been through a lot. I’ll make sure you can pass out for a whole day after this. I’ll watch Maddy.”

“Thank you,” Kyle murmured. “You’re the best. Honestly.”

Stark brushed the hair out of his forehead and leaned down to kiss him on the cheek. “No, you are. Hell, you just had an entire baby.”

“Yeah, but you helped,” Kyle muttered with a playful smirk.

“Thatistrue,” Stark said.
