“In a good or a bad way?”
Kyle paused, then said. “Good way.”
“Good.” Stark smiled.
“Did you two need a moment, or…?” the receptionist asked. Stark turned to Kyle.
“I think… we’re okay,” Kyle said. He glanced at his mate. “Um, I know at least one of us is always going to be at home with the baby, but… I think I’d like to fill out a registration form with this daycare. Just in case.”
The receptionist smiled. “Certainly. I’ll take you back to the front desk.”
On the way back, Stark put his arm around Kyle. “How was it?” he asked.
“It was good,” Kyle said. “I… I didn’t really know what I was expecting, but this isn’t it. This is so much better.”
Stark smiled. “I’m glad.”
“Me too,” Kyle said.
“I’m proud of you for facing this,” Stark said. “You could have just ignored it and never come back here, but you did. You’ve very brave.”
Kyle blushed and averted his eyes. “It’s not a big deal.”
“It is.” Stark brushed his finger along Kyle’s jaw and lifted his chin so he could kiss him. “I love you, my brave little omega.”
Fully red-faced and embarrassed now, Kyle pulled away after the kiss and hurried down the hall to the front desk. “Come on.”
Stark just chuckled and called, “Coming.”
