I crossed my arms back at him. “Don’t you have somewhere to be right about now? Like… home?”

A tiny grin tugged at the corners of his lips. I wanted to reach up and kiss the smug look off his face.

“Tell me the real reason,” he said gently.

We stared, standing off with each other before I finally sighed and broke. “I forgot your cake for your birthday, so Nick gave me money to go run out and buy one, except some guy at the bakery gave away all the food, and then the little cupcake place was closed, but I didn’t want tonotget you anything, so I came here and - ” I stopped to catch my breath. “And then I bumped into you.”

“I see,” Victor murmured.

“I’m really sorry I forgot, honest,” I said pleadingly. “If I hadn’t run into you here I would have bought you a cake and been home to greet you by now…”

“Liam,” Victor said. He stepped forward, towering over me. He traced my jaw with a finger, and I looked up. “I’ll tell you a something.”

“What is it?” I whispered. My heart thumped against my ribs.

“I’ll forgive you for not getting me a cake if you do something else for me,” he said.

“Anything,” I said, blinking. “What is it?”

“Kiss me.”

As the words came out of his mouth, I turned red. “W-what?” I lowered my voice. “Right here? In front of all these people?”

“Yes,” he said with a slight nod. A mischievous grin edged his lips. “If you do that, I’ll forgive any lack of cake at my birthday.”

My gaze traced over his sexy mouth, and I realized I’d be lying if I said Ididn’twant to kiss him, public be damned. I sighed.

Without wasting another moment, I leaned up and took his face in my hands and crushed our lips together. Victor’s warmth and scent and slight wetness from his mouth instantly made me melt. I had to stop myself from moaning at the huge shockwave of pleasure rocketing through my body.

Then Victor was kissing me back, hot and feverish. My heart felt like it would explode in my chest. My hands ached to explore his body. Despite myself, my cock twitched in my pants.

Finally we broke away, both breathless.

People started clapping. One woman even whistled.

I groaned.

Victor chuckled and clapped me on the back. “Thanks, Liam. For the best birthday gift I could ask for.”

“You’re welcome,” I mumbled, suddenly hyperaware of how hot my face was. I stared at the floor as we headed for the exit.

“Liam.”

“Yeah?”

Before I knew what was happening, Victor caught my lips again, and pulled away before I could even register the kiss.

Victor shot me a smug grin. “Love you.”

I let out a big sigh. “I love you, too.”
