"That we can definitely do."
"Alright, well back to having you all to myself," Hayes says, a sense of smugness hitting him.
He has that air about him, like he's proud of himself for being able to take care of our Omega, and we're glad too.
There's no way Sterling, and I could work different shifts. Then we'd never be together as a pack. At least with 48/96 it gives us more down time together, and more time to recoup.
"Oh, tell them," Hailey says, turning to Hayes.
"The Beacon wants me to come to their grand opening. They're going to pay me to come to the opening and my table fees as long as I agree to be in their marketing material," Hayes says, but Hailey seems more excited.
It’s not like he needs the money, so I’m guessing he took the gig purely off of Hailey’s excitement.
"It sounds like there's going to be a bunch of famous people there. Honestly, I just want to say I bumped elbows with someone famous. Oh, what if people from Love at first Scent are there?" she says.
"I'm not sure they're considered famous," Hayes says.
"To me, they are, as long as Decan isn't one of them." She scrunches her nose with distaste. "I already checked your schedule. You're both off, so we can all go together and support Hayes.”
Her happiness over the idea of us all being together floods our bond, and it's impossible not to smile.
"Oh, and don't worry, we're going shopping for both of you so you have something nice to wear."
I clutch my chest and feign injury. "Are you saying I don't dress nice?"
"No. I'm just saying if another Omega sees you in gray sweatpants and a station T-shirt, I'd have to cut their eyes out," she says, tapping me on the nose, before grabbing my chin and giving me a kiss. She glances down at my mustache before pulling away.
She's obsessed with my facial hair, so now I guess I’ll be rocking a stache for the rest of my life.
God, I'm in love with her. It's unbelievable how different she is from her mother, how I ever got myself in a situation with that woman in the first place.
Hailey is the one for me. The one for all of us.
"See you tomorrow, love you," she whispers before giving Sterling a kiss and those same words.
It feels unreal to have gotten to this point, but I wouldn't have it any other way. Our Omega leaves and then chaos ensues, the hungry men nearly dropping the container of snickerdoodles amid them trying to grab a cookie.
"Let me go hide this before these animals steal them," Sterling says, another ginger snap already at his lips. "It really does taste just like my mom’s, I can't believe she gave her the recipe."
"How could she not? Our Omega can be quite persuasive."
"This is true. I still can't believe she convinced me to let her have the soldering iron in the house," he says.
I roll my eyes, because there are a lot of specific rules about the soldering iron. Someone has to be home when she's using it. It can only be used on top of her cork board at her workstation, and she's extremely diligent about turning it off.
Our windows are all covered in different stained-glass projects she's done and she's getting more comfortable with the idea of maybe trying to sell some of her creations.
"She seems excited about Hayes' deal with The Beacon," I say.
Sterling groans. The fact is, we're probably on the easier going, simple side of life than Hayes and Hailey. The idea of being in a crowded space with people scenting and gawking at our Omega has me grimacing.
Now that we're bonded, it's made us all fifty times more possessive.
"We'll get through it. What's the worst that could happen?" I say, not sure who I’m trying to convince, me or Sterling.
