"You're welcome," I whisper back and we laugh, his dick softening as I lean forward and kiss him. He pulls out, pushing my panties back to where they belong. I'm a slick mess filled with his cum, and I undoubtedly enjoy the extra claim.

"Let's go home. The Alphas will be home soon and it's important that they know you bonded me first," he says with agrin as he opens the passenger door. I maneuver my way off his lap, and he tucks himself away, pulling up his pants as he gets out of the car, taking the driver's seat as I get back into the car.

A sense of calmness and certainty fuels me and I sit there grinning with my new tattoo and soaking wet panties.

This day is one of the best I've ever had. Hayes' hand reaches across the console and he rests it on my thigh, his touch possessive and tender.

The ride home is enjoyable and I'm so excited to see Nate and Sterling. Getting used to their schedule is going to be hard, but Hayes was right. Bonding will make everything easier.

We're only five minutes from home when a call from Nate comes in. Hayes answers it over bluetooth.

"Hey. I've got some exciting news for when you come home," Hayes says in a cheery voice.

I'm sure he's going to be insufferable to Nate and Sterling, letting them know I chose him first.

"We're going to be home later than we planned," Nate says. His voice sounds odd, and I adjust in my seat.

"Is everything okay?" I ask.

"Fuck," Nate hisses.

"What is it?" I say back, and Hayes continues to massage my thigh.

"We're at the hospital."

"You're what?" Hayes says first, already turning his blinker on to go the opposite way of home and instead, the direction of the hospital.

"He's going to be so irritated. He's fine. He just passed out a little," Nate says.

"We're on our way right now," Hayes tells him, and Nate curses again.

"Please don't worry, he's fine. He didn't even want me to call. It was protocol that he gets a checkup."

I tap my foot against the ground, keeping my lips sealed shut or else I'll lose my temper. What does he mean he wasn't going to call us when one of our pack mates was in the fucking hospital? I don't care if it was for a paper cut.

Nate clears his throat and Hayes sighs next to me.

"We'll be there in fifteen," he says, hanging up. "Hailey," he whispers my name, and I just shake my head.

My Beta sighs as we make our way to the hospital. Who do these Alphas think they are keeping secrets from me? They said we were all in, that I was their Omega.

Oh, I'm going to show them what it's like having an Omega when you decide to keep secrets.

We park and head to the front desk to get visitor badges and make our way to the emergency department.

As soon as I see him I'm not sure whether to start yelling or if I should cry.

CHAPTER 29

STERLING

I’mready to get the fuck out of here, but the place is so backed up I haven’t been seen by a physician yet. If I want to get back on duty, I need a doctor to sign off that I’m okay.

It was just exhaustion. Hailey’s heat was taxing, and I didn’t get enough rest between then and going back to work. Plus, the amount of calls during our long shift was absolute chaos. We had two massive structure fires in the Nevada heat and my body just couldn’t take it.

The back of my head is tender from my fall, and I’m tired, but beyond that I’m completely fine. I just need some rest.

When Nate comes back into my room, his cheeks pink as he scratches his face; I give him a glare.
