“Mmhmm,” I reply, because what’s the other option? Telling him I was thinking about what it would feel like if he ate me out?

His hand slides over my bare leg, just a drag of his fingertips as he kisses my shoulder.

“God, you look so fucking pretty tonight,” he whispers against my skin.

I’m done for. Absolutely, completely infatuated with the Beta.

He makes good on his promise, only a few more rounds until the game is done. He unsurprisingly comes out on top and the Alphas aren’t pleased about it. I stand up and circle around the other Omegas as the men talk. I expect malice, but that’s always been my insecurity hasn’t it? Just like the Omegas at the club, these women are nice as hell and I feel bad for ever judging them.

“No, because how did you find a guy who’s hot and rich? If I have to sleep with Zach one more time to pay my bills I’m going to lose it,” the one girl, whose name I didn’t catch, says.

“Seriously. I mean at least they aren’t cheap. Nothing is worse than an ain’t shit Alpha who’s also stingy,” the other says and I nod frantically at her.

“So it’s not just me?” I reply.

“I don’t know if it’s Vegas or everywhere, but the Alphas around here better shape up or we can all collectively go on aknotting strike,” the one says while others laugh, knowing we’re probably the ones who need it more. It’s the whole goddamn reason we put up with them.

“I never thought about a Beta. I think you’re onto something,” the blonde one who was sitting on Zach’s lap says.

“Yeah, me too,” I reply as Hayes wraps an arm around my neck and kisses my cheek.

“Ready to go spend some money?” he asks, and I swear the Omegas around me swoon in jealousy.

Is it wrong that I eat it up? That I like that they all want what I have? Probably, but I don’t give a shit.

His nose rubs into my hair, kissing the side of my head.

“Hungry?”

“Starving,” I reply as he does a few last-minute things with the casino for his earnings. After he’s settled, with his hand in mine, he takes me two floors up to a small sushi restaurant.

It’s the best sushi I’ve ever had as it melts on my tongue and I let out a little sound of pleasure with each bite.

“You were unreal tonight,” he says, just watching me.

No, not just watching me. Hayes looks at me like I’m special, a feeling I know I’m newly addicted to.

“In a good way?” I ask sheepishly.

“Couldn’t have had a better date to bring if I tried. All the Alphas wanted you and all the Omegas wanted to be you. And I…I’m honored that I was the one to be there with you.”

My neck heats and I do what any logical person would do and shove the largest piece of sushi in my mouth so I don’t have to respond right away.

I chew for a long time collecting my thoughts.

“You were impressive too. I’m glad I didn’t chicken out.”

“No. You were perfect,” he says.

I swallow thickly and take in his handsome features. He wore a simple black T-shirt, his hat, and some simple black trousers, all the Alphas tonight wore suits. Hayes doesn’t give a single shit, and it makes my pull toward him even stronger.

He’s everything I wanted to be when I thought I was a Beta, and he’s everything I want to be now. I want to be bold, not hide behind a stage name and pretend I’m two different people.

I want to embrace being an Omega and take what I want.

“So. Did you book a room here tonight too?”

He smiles, sweet little crinkles forming around his eyes.
