“I think our Omega needs you next,” Bram says, helping Ethan off the floor and giving him a kiss before heading to the shower.
“Wow,” I rasp out.
Ethan laughs and picks me up by my hips and tosses me on the bed before tickling my sides and putting a huge smile on my face.
“I heard you might be needing my mouth too,” Ethan jokes, crawling down my body. “So lucky to be the pack fellatio and cunnilingus master,” he says, and I laugh even more as he kisses up my leg.
All the posts and comments I was reading earlier completely slip away.
Much to Bram’s chagrin, I’m spending the night at Max’s tonight. His apartment is bare and bland, but it smells like him at least.
I thought it would be better to stay over here for a change. It’s clear he feels some type away being at Bram’s. I’m not sure if it’s because it’s his house and he feels like an unwelcome guest or because Bram’s scent is so embedded in the home that it brings out a deep Alpha side of him.
But Max and I were thrust into each other’s arms, and it feels unfair that he constantly feels uncomfortable.
We’re lying on his couch, his arm around me as I snuggle into his side. I love his size and scent so much, but even in his own home, he doesn’t seem to be able to truly relax.
“Max, what’s wrong?” I say, sitting on my knees to face him.
“Nothing’s wrong,” he says as his phone vibrates repeatedly on the arm of the couch.
“Your phone has been going crazy, and you’ve seemed on edge all night.”
He scrubs a hand down his face. “I just wanted tonight to be relaxing with you and me.”
I’m about to ask him why it can’t be when he hands me the phone.
It seems the speculation about our pack has left Reddit and moved over to national news.
Shit.
The first article is the worst. The title is “The Coach’s Daughter and the Rake.” It’s a picture of me and Max smiling at the Humane Society event weeks ago. The article is rife with misinformation that basically calls Max a slut who can’t hold down an Omega and wondering if he’s the reason my father fired me.
Max looks mortified, but I keep scrolling through the different things he’s been sent.
There is one funny one at least.
“A Deep Dive into the Beta Hottie Under the Mask.”
I laugh. “Well, Ethan will love this one,” I say, and Max gives me a forced laugh.
For whatever reason, the article doesn’t mention much about Bram. I suppose I’ve been in public more with Ethan and Max.
“I’m not sure why people are sensationalizing this. It’s not like I’m famous.”
Max holds out his arm, and I go back to my previous position. His body seems to relax a little more now that he’s shown me what’s bothering him.
“There’s only been one more pack contract since Eli and Mikael’s pack. I think add in the mascot and you being the coach’s daughter, it’s exciting for people to speculate.”
“Don’t forget you and Bram being enemies.”
He clears his throat, and I pat his chest.
“I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to bring him up,” I say, even though we need to get over this.
I can’t have my Alphas living in separate houses, and I can’t help but to think all this media attention might make things even worse with the two of them getting along.
“I just wish we didn’t have to travel again tomorrow,” he says, kissing the top of my head.
