“Fuck, Lily.”

He shudders and his hold on my hair is near bruising as he fills me with his cum, his knot at its full size inside of me.

He thrusts into me a few more times before he sits fully back, his hands leaving my hair and sliding down my back gently. The juxtaposition of rough and tender with Cash is consuming.

It feels like we’re in slow motion as we both come down from our high. It’s silent between us as we touch and explore. My fingertips graze across the healed scars on his chest, hating thatthey’re there, but proud that he survived and that he’s here with me. He doesn’t have to talk about it now, but one day I hope he’ll feel comfortable enough to do so.

He shifts slightly, and the feeling of his knot still inside of me makes me moan.

“Sorry, baby,” he mumbles, pushing back my side-swept bangs.

“That was amazing,” I whisper while touching his face, and that has him smiling at me.

Cash doesn’t smile much at others, but around me, he always seems happy. It’s an overwhelming feeling knowing that my presence alone allows him to feel like he can let loose and be happy. It also lightens something in my chest, knowing that his offer to bond me isn’t just to help me but because he wants me, he needs me.

I’ve never been needed before… I’m not sure how to handle it.

“Thank you, Cash,” I breathe, resting my head on his shoulder.

His scent is so thick and heavy, it’s like a warm blanket for my soul. And I know without a doubt Cash was always meant to become my bonded Alpha. I just need to fully prepare myself.

“Anything for you, Lily,” he says against my hair.

He wraps his large arms around me while we wait for his knot to go down. I can tell he’s being completely transparent with that statement, that he would truly do anything for me.

I felt a small glimpse of hope when Axel said he would figure out a way for us to be together, but now with Cash’s promises as well, I can envision my future with more clarity.

I’m going to finish what I started with Marielli’s Mass, and that money will buy my future whether it's here on this compound like I always dreamed of or riding off to the sunsetwith Cash and Axel. Although it feels like something—someone—is missing, but I don’t let myself dwell on that.

Cash iscareful about bringing me home, avoiding any cameras. Axel hasn’t come home yet, which is concerning. I desperately hope he didn’t do something stupid to get himself in trouble. I know he can take care of himself. He more than proved that the night he rescued me from my horrible date.

“Will you or Axel text me when he’s home?” I whisper to Cash.

“Of course. Do you need to climb up the roof again?” Cash asks, seemingly less than pleased that I would do that on my own.

“No, Mom and her pack are shooting pool tonight. They won’t be home till late,” I reply.

I’m wrapped up in his hoodie, which I stole, and I hate that I’m going to have to hide in my room, but at least I’ll be able to sleep with it tonight. He takes a fist full of his massive hoodie and drags me toward him. I grin up at him as he kisses me tenderly on my front porch.

“Later, baby.”

“Later,” I sigh as our faces part, and I turn, opening the front door.

I’m on cloud nine, just about to do a little wiggle of excitement when a menacing voice cuts through my happiness.

“Jesus fuckin’ Christ, Lily,” my brother’s voice startles me, causing me to jump slightly.

“Leon, what are you doing here?” I ask him.

He laughs and throws back whatever he is drinking. Only the oven light is on, making him appear more menacing than his tone truly portrays.

“More like why are you fuckin’ Cash?” he spits out, and I jolt back.

“That’s none of your fucking business,” I counter.

“You’re my baby sister. You’ll always be my fuckin’ business,” he states. His voice is calm. He isn’t yelling at me, so at least there’s that.

“Cash is who I want. I don’t want any of these guys Kurt keeps setting me up with,” I reply, trying to not get defensive.
