All that word vomit I couldn’t tell Axel comes out of me now. “Does it get better after you bond? After your heat? Will I always feel this terrible?” I ask her. She reaches out and gently touches my wrist.
“Before your first heat is the worst. I promise it gets better, and it looks like you already know who you want anyway,” she says.
“You could tell all of that just from one small encounter?” I ask her in disbelief.
She shrugs. “It’s a gift. So why haven’t you bonded them?” she asks.
“My stepdad is the President of the club, and he wants me out. He would probably kill them if he knew,” I tell her plainly.
She gives me a soft smile, something in her soft blue eyes telling me she understands to some degree of what I’m going through.
She’s about to speak when I narrow my eyes at Tate, who is talking to a group of women that I don’t know. With all the newly patched in members, it seems they needed to ship in some new girls for the party. A tall, pretty Beta with long blonde hair touches his arm as she laughs, and I want to throw up. My stomach ripples in pain, and it takes everything in me to not march over there and break her wrist.
Liv turns in her seat, following my gaze to who I’m glaring at, and she clears her throat.
“What’s his deal?” she asks softly.
“He’s my stepbrother.”
“Wow, this place is seriously like a soap opera,” she deadpans, and I give her a little glare. She laughs it off andshakes her head. “I think you need to let her know he’s off the market,” she teases.
“He’s not,” I respond, hating the truth spilling out of my mouth.
Liv pinches the underskin of my arm hard, making me shout. “What the fuck?” I ask her, but she just grins at me. I blink at the madwoman in front of me as Axel, Cash… and Tate all immediately start heading in my direction.
Liv leans forward and whispers in my ear, “You seem pretty fucking claimed to me.”
“You’re kinda crazy, you know that?” I tell her, and she just smiles wider.
“It’s part of my charm,” Liv replies.
“You alright?” Axel asks quickly.
“Yeah, I’m fine, just banged my elbow on the table,” I lie. He arches an eyebrow at me, looks over at Tate, and shakes his head with a smile. He puts down my drink and walks away.
Tate’s eyebrows furrow as he looks at me and then back down at the ground before walking away as well.
Liv pulls out her phone and hands it to me. “Put your number in. I need to know how this all plays out,” she snickers. Her pack mates look completely unphased by her behavior, and I quickly put in my number, feeling totally confused but in awe by our encounter.
“Liv, sweetheart, it’s time to go,” her Alpha Grayson says. Liv rolls her eyes.
“I swear if he could microchip me he would,” she tells me, and I smile at that.
“Thanks for helping the dogs, their situation was terrible,” I tell her.
“Of course, I just wish we could have stayed longer,” she says.
“Liv, we’ve got to get on the road,” Grayson urges, putting a hand on her shoulder.
“Calm down, Daddy. Damn,” she grumbles, just casually tossing that word out there.
She grabs my wrist gently and smiles at me. “If you need anyone to talk to, you have my number. It was nice meeting you, Lily,” she says, standing up, her Alpha two steps behind her, not letting her stray far. I wave at her and smile. Something about our small chat eased my anxiety.
I think I just found myself an Omega mentor to help me get the fuck out of this mess.
“What are you up to?”my brother asks, leaning over my shoulder. I look up at him, and I note that he looks like complete shit. The dark circles under his eyes are deep, and I swear his hand trembles slightly as he holds his coffee cup.
“Dating app,” I snark, still not over our last conversation.
