“What about Leon? Is he okay?” Teresa asks.

“Fuck,” Tate and I both say under our breath as we look over at Dread. It’s clear he doesn’t know about Leon.

“Whatdoyou know then, Dread?” Tate asks.

Tate stands, taking away Dread’s weapon, which the older Alpha allows. Tate presses the cold metal against the older man's temple and holds it there.

“What you tell me next will be the deciding factor if you die here and now, or if I let you leave here with your Omega,” Tate warns.

“I know he’s been workin’ with the Wraiths, tradin’ in dirty shit. I know he’s been laundering money, and that he’s takin’ out other chapters,” Dread states honestly.

“Why didn’t you do anything?” I ask while Tate keeps the gun pressed against his head.

Teresa looks around the room in shock, but she doesn’t speak.

“He’s in my fuckin’ pack; he’s my Prez. I couldn’t be the one to do it,” Dread replies calmly.

Teresa is clearly dumbfounded, her mind reeling as she looks over at her Alpha.

“Dread, where are my children?” she asks.

“I don’t know, baby,” he answers, ignoring the weapon against his head.

“You’re not lyin’ to me?” Tate asks, shoving the tip of the gun harder against his skin.

“No, where are they?” Dread asks.

Tate doesn’t drop the gun, but his head tilts back as he looks at the ceiling for a second.

“Pack up your shit. You two need to leave and never come back. If you come back here, Dread, I’ll fuckin’ kill you, you hear me?” Tate growls and I can tell it’s hard for him to get out. “Take Teresa and get the fuck out of here. Retire.”

“Come on, T,” Dread urges, standing up and attempting to pull Teresa up.

Her watery eyes look up to Tate, not getting up out of her seat.

“What did Kurt do to my kids?” she asks, tears flowing down her cheeks now. I feel bad for the woman, but part of me feels like she should have done a better job as a mother protecting her kids.

“Lily is safe; Cash, Axel, and I are goin’ to take care of her. I need some time, but I’ll let you see her eventually. You can talk on the phone, but you can’t stay here, not if you want to be with Dread,” Tate tells her.

Teresa looks over at her Alpha and back at us.

“Where’s Leon?”

The look Tate gives her tells her everything she needs to know. Her hands cover her face as she breaks out into sobs. Dread wraps his arms around her, looking at Tate with complete shock.

“I don’t know if you’re lyin’ or playin’ me for a fuckin’ fool, Dread. But I’m lettin’ you live because you raised me more than my own father did, and I can’t take away both of Teresa’s Alphas. So if you’re gonna go, go now,” Tate commands calmly.

Dread gets on his knees before his Omega, completely understanding that the poor woman not only just lost a son, butis going to be feeling the horrific pain of one of her bonds dying as well.

“Baby, I got to get you out of here,” he urges her to move.

The woman is distraught, and who wouldn’t be? But she pulls herself together for a moment, even though her breaths come out unevenly.

“You’ll let me see her?” she questions hopefully.

“When it’s safe,” Tate responds.

“Kurt did this to my children?” she asks like she needs confirmation of what a piece of shit her Alpha is.
