“I can be good.”
“I know you can, pet.”
“Is there anything else you want to cover before we get there?”
“Just know if you’re ever uncomfortable, you can always tell me. Oh, take my phone out of my pocket. The first photo is a picture of Paige, so you know what you’re looking for.”
I look at him wide-eyed. A man handing over his phone willingly. He doesn’t even have a lock screen as I look at the photo, memorizing the blonde woman’s features in front of me. She’s pretty. On the one hand, I hope she’s the one possessed and this ends tonight, on the other, I hope not. If what Dax said is true, and Mara is inside of this woman, the damage she is doing is insurmountable.
I can’t help it when I look at his contacts. There are only two saved numbers in there ‘little witch’ and Ryan. It makes my stomach sink. Before I can dwell on it any longer, I slide his phone back into his jacket pocket.
Dax pulls into an empty parking spot and I notice immediately that the building is warded. To a human, the building won’t even be visible. To me, however, it looks like a warehouse with the beaming word Inferno on the front.
“You ready?” Dax asks me, unclipping his seatbelt. I smile at him and give him a nod. I take a few deep breaths as he exits the car and walks around the front to open my door for me.
I can do this.
Chapter 19
ItakeBlair’ssmallerhand in mine as we walk toward the entrance of Inferno. Fuck, she looks good. I know I was opposed to her going shopping with Kas, but what she’s wearing tonight makes it oh so worth it. The outfit she’s wearing with the two little buns in her hair had me nearly devouring her on sight. Definitely worth seven grand.
I’ve considered turning the car around and taking her home and fucking her all night more times than I would like to admit. Mostly because she looks stunning and I want her all to myself. The other part of me, which I’m having a hard time with, is the idea of her being in danger. This whole scheme started with me just needing Blair as a date to get into the club. Now that we know Mara might be going after my little witch, I don’t like it one bit.
She looks nervous, but still confident in the way she walks. Part of me hopes she breaks a rule or two so that I can bend her over in that expensive little skirt I bought and smack her perky ass until it’s nice and pink.
“Remember, no talking to anyone but me, Asmo, and Kas.”
“Yes, daddy,” she says, rolling her eyes and kissing my cheek. I must have been decent enough before I was a demon to be blessed with this naughty seductress.
I arch an eyebrow at her, but she holds my hand tightly as we’re greeted by Asmo and Kas.
Kas gives her a look of approval but doesn’t say much. She seems more eager to get this job done than anyone, and I would be lying if I said I wasn’t suspicious of her intentions.
Kas pulls Blair to the side to give her a pep talk or some shit. I keep an eye on her as Asmo comes and stands next to me. We’re both dressed more casually as I lean over and whisper to him. “We need to keep an eye on Kas.”
“What do you think I do all day?”
“Not that kind of eye, dumbass.”
“Listen, I might be nearly blinded by Kas’ pristine pussy and life changing ass. But I’m not dumb enough to let her take all the credit for this capture. We’re partners. If anyone is going to take credit for bringing this psycho bitch back to Hell, it’s going to be us.”
“Just want to make sure we’re on the same page.”
“Won’t stop me from letting her top me in front of a crowd of people.”
I roll my eyes but shrug. Asmo is going to do whatever he wants, and as long as he realizes that the job comes first and that Kas can’t be trusted, that’s all I need to know.
“Ready to go, pet?” I whisper against the shell of Blair’s ear. She smells like lavender and sage. I want to lick the column of her throat and see what she tastes like.
“Yeah,” she mumbles, sparing one last glance at Kas.
Asmo holds the door for us. The lobby is dimly lit; the decor lets you know that it’s seedy, but in an upscale way. Debauchery may happen here, but the floors and surfaces you sit on are clean. Kas’ heels click against the obsidian tile as we’re greeted by the hostess. A vampire female with pale skin and dirty blonde hair stands behind the black hostess stand.
“I’ll need your invitations and club payment,” she says. Kas hands over two tickets and pays the woman before Asmo and Kas both grab their purple bands.
“Oh shit, they’re open to other people?” Blair says next to me.
“Honestly, I don’t know who’s the bigger sexual deviant of the two.”
