“How’s Kelsey?” Grayson asks.

“She’s doing okay. Still driving me fucking crazy every chance she gets. You moved to Connecticut, huh?”

“Yeah, we needed a change. It’s been nice. You two will need to come by the house sometime. Hopefully, you like dogs.”

“How many do you have?” I ask him.

“Too many to fucking count,” Dean says in a low tone.

“You better not let her hear you say that or she will go adopt another one tomorrow,” their Beta, River, replies.

Grayson clearly has his hands full with this lot.

“So you and Deja Fox?”

“Yeah, I work for her.”

“Looks like more than that,” Grayson says.

“Oh, fuck off.”

“Just handing your hoodie out to any pretty girl nowadays?”

I give him a glare, and he laughs. Liv looks over and gives him an adoring smile as she turns her attention back to Cami.

“Keep it up asshole, and I’ll make sure we don’t visit when we move to New York.”

“Liv would not be happy,” River says. I don’t think he has moved his gaze away from Liv. He’s pretty intense for a Beta.

“I’m just messing with you, gotta tell you though, you’re missing out. Being with an Omega is unlike anything else,” Grayson says in a sincere tone.

“I’ll take your word for it.” I look down at my watch. “Sorry to cut this short, but she has to get on stage.” Looking at them getting along, I can’t help but smile. Cami hasn’t met up with a single friend since the tour started. “I’m sure that we will see you soon.”

“Take it easy, man,” Grayson says, slapping my shoulder.

Walking over to Cami, I place my hand on her shoulder. I swear it must be my imagination, but it’s like she’s leaning into the touch.

“Can you make sure that she gets my phone number?” Cami asks me.

“Of course, I’ll give it to Grayson.”

“She’s so nice, maybe a little intense, but definitely sweet.”

“I’ll make sure she gets your number. Grayson was practically begging to hang out when we move to the area.” It’s kinda weird saying we’re moving somewhere like we’re a couple or something. I might exaggerate about the begging as well. Time around people I feel comfortable with would be refreshing.

“That would be nice. Speaking of which, I think I found the apartment we should rent. I’ll send it to your email to see what you think.”

“It’s not like we’re co-signing on an apartment together.”

She scrunches her eyebrows together when she looks at me. “For security reasons.”

“Uh, yeah, right.” I clear my throat as one of the backstage crew helps her get set up with her mic, and to finish getting ready for the show.

I’m standing there watching as she smiles at the assistant who makes some final touches to her makeup. Suddenly, Grayson comes barging backstage. His pupils are blown and his hand rakes through his hair.

“Man, what’s wrong?” I ask him. I’ve never seen Grayson panicked ever. The man has the ability to keep his cool under any situation.

“This is not good, not good,” Grayson says.
